The left lane is for passing. Slower traffic must yield to faster cars. That means MOVE THE FVCK OVER if someone behind you is going faster than you. If you're going to drive 55mph on a freeway with a 65mph speed limit, GET OUT OF THE LEFT LANE. :| :| :|

Heh, well, yeah, I agree, but I figure if I start ranting about people driving the speed limit I'm going to get flamed by all the people who apparently drive the speed limit

I agree. Let him pass you, get his tag number, and report him to local law enforcement. If you need a refresher course why not to speed, CourtTV.com will have something right up your alley.

I would just let the guy pass, solely because he's driving faster. I'm not one to judge when going a certain speed is excessive...but I do care about people holding up the traffic on the left lane. Of course, if you're able to do 90 without slowing down, then my guess is that traffic is not too bad.

Much easier said than done. Most times moving lanes would require you to slow down to speed limit (or at least much closer to speed limit) and then speed up again. I don't agree with this if the lanes are heavy and the traffic is much slower.

Not in Illinois. You'll get pulled over for left lane camping these days or be subjected to some serious road rage. Take your massive barge of an SUV and get it in the right lane where it belongs. I average 90mph on the interstates and even I move into the right lane when I'm not passing.

In Los Angeles this is a moot point. Traffic rarely gets above 15 mph anyway.

BTW, it is the "inside lane" or the "number one" lane, there is no such thing as a "fast lane."

You won't be doing 90mph if I'm on the road with you. I make it my personal mission to slow down drivers who drive too fast by driving the speed limit in the left lane.
