Just like me and the minivan. Street racing is illegal and wrong, but if conditions permit a beatdown, it will be done.

Oh, and I once saw a Honda with a POLICE INTERCEPTOR badge on it. $90 says he doesn't know that's what the cars are called, and that he's not proclaiming the fact that he beats down the popo when they chase after him, but is instead branding himself as a cop.

You should come out here to L.A. There are million shops out here with every spoiler you could possibly want. Plus, L.A. is the only place I know of where nearly every mall has a store or one of those carts that sells stickers and bulbs. Blue lights + spoiler + Powered by Mercedes sticker + Type-R sticker = 1000000000 hp!

Falling Down = sweet ass movie. When I snap, that's how I want to go out.

You forgot to mention the spray-painted-black "carbon fiber" hood and its mad weight reducing p0waZ, coupled with that extra downforce on the back of the FWD car.

lets see, if i really wanted to make a fwd killer car, i sure as hell wouldnt put any extra weight on it.

my car already does 0-60 in 8.3 seconds (edmunds) and well, with a quick computer upgrade i can get 65 more horsepower, and 65 more lbft of torque. which should drastically reduce that time.
then if i got a new exhaust, decrease back pressure a lil (not a fart can) and it shoudl take me to stage 2 mods which should total about 250 hp and 300 lbft of torque or so. and then i would get new springs and struts, nothing of this is looks the new springs struts however do lower the car 1.5".

and the car wouldnt be a ricer. it would be a pretty damn fast stock looking car w/ way more power than necessary.

Hahaha. I saw a Caprice the other day with the Police Interceptor logo, although it was pretty clear that it wasn't a police car any more. I wonder how much those go for at police auctions...

Hey, don't get me wrong. I like Accords. I like Camrys. They're great cars, and actually do have some potential for better performance. But that missing performance does NOT lie in spoilers, stickers, and bulbs. It lies in suspension and engine upgrades--upgrades that are INTERNAL. 😛

i hope no one makes a spoiler for my car. that would be sad. and my wheels are already mags, they look good i would say.

i was looking at an A4, but decided not to get one so i got a 9-5 instead.

Yeah, FoliaTec makes a bunch of stupid crap that somebody in L.A. definitely already has on their car.

Examples:
1) Carbon fiber overlay - like wallpaper for your sheetmetal.
2) Fake big brake rotors - you mount these over your drum brakes.
3) Fake hood pins - stick on--I don't need to say any more about that.
4) Fake billet gas cap - stick on--again, nothing more to say.

Short list, but there's a bunch more of these out there.

The 9-5 is nice

Plus Saab doesn't have the rep that MB and BMW (and Audi to a lesser extent) have, so you get a lot more for your money.

The badges, or the cars?

The cars can be had, depending on department and how thoroughly they've been beaten/rammed into things, between $2000 and $15000, $15000 being an unmarked car that was used in exactly 1 pursuit and never had a cage installed, and $2000 being a marked cruiser that was used to ram a 3/4 ton pickup off the road (though they usually do body repairs before reselling the things, certain parts will still be tweaked)

I saw a Civic with clear taillights on the NY State Thruway Saturday.

He was weaving in out of traffic, and cut in front of my old Van,and then hit the brakes.
I was in the right/slow lane going 70.WTF> :|

I looked at the plate number, and dropped back like 20 car lengths,
then about 3 miles up the road a car pulled up next to him,and they both hit the brakes!

I went around them both on the shoulder, 10 seconds later, they both went flying by me at about 90mph!

When I got off the toll road I told the toll collector the plate number.

Dang dumb drivers, there was too much traffic to be driving like jackasses.

Yeah, the cars. I think R&T (or maybe C&D) had a review of a Police Interceptor a few years back. Man, that car hauled some serious ass. It had a bunch of internal mods, plus the suspension was beefed up like a truck so the car could go over curbs and such at high speed. Really interesting read

hahhhhaahah, i agree with dingdingdao. The mods that people put on there cars are quite rediculous and most of them do it because they think it makes the car look better. Two freaking tones on one car (i.e. Carbon fiber hood against another color), is not attractive. A picnic table sized wing on the back of the car, is not attractive...look what you did, you got me all riled up. **goes to play GT4**

Haha I think I'll fire up GT4 too. I'm trying to finish the game (at least the main parts, not the manufacturer races) before I start on Forza Motorsport, which is still sealed and sitting on my coffee table.

See sig.

I will confirm - at 260km/h I was very glad that spoiler was on the back of my car for downforce on my back tires to prevent them from losing traction.

A spoiler is not only for the rear tires, but for the entire aerodynamics of the car.

NOW... I will agree that most cars (even the SRT-4) does not need a spoiler for normal driving... in the 30,000km on my car, about 50 of tose are high speed driving where it was needed.

That's the stock spoiler, right? I think Dodge probably did wind-tunnel testing (I HOPE they did wind tunnel testing) and realized they needed the wing for stability at high speed. My post was not directed at you

I agree w/the rant 😉

A while back I was looking at that CarDomain website, and laughing my ass of, and found this special little car. I drive a '93 Concorde, so this made me

Yeah, stock spoiler... and yes - Dodge has stated they have wind tunnel testing proving that it works at 110mph+ ... aside from that its just fugly though 🙂

-- No problem at all... I didnt take any offence!! 🙂 Cheers!

Oh, and I may very well be the only person to install a custom exhaust on a standard vehicle that's SMALLER than the factory one.

Couldn't find anyone with pipes for my GMC van, so we custom bent some 2.5", where the stock is like 4". We recently redid it with factory 4", though.

POINT IS, YOU DON'T NEED THE SPOLIER ON A DRAG STRIP if your car is FWD as the rant specifies.

Spoilers do make sense for twisty roads though.
