I take back my previous post. I'd get one of those big horses from the budweiser commercials. You can probably get a used one for 15k, and you'll get a lot more attention on your ride to work.

Ford Focus ZX3 provided you want a 3-dr.

Saturn Ion Redlines (leftover '04s) should be available for around that price range as well.

Your not gonna get too sporty for $15K new.

doorstop?

tiburons are the poor mans sport car. low hp/L though. 2.65L 170hp at 10 comp ratio? probably could use a more free flowing intake and exhaust and cats.

ok handling, good looking but not really too good in any department, rather just adquate.

that would be your best bet if you want to buy new.
and since price is fixed, there's no haggling PERIOD.

my flatmate got a Scion xA automatic plus some options, it was $15,000 out the door.

it COULD look sporty, just lower it and change decent-sized rims. it is quite a nice looking car in stock form anyways. performance wise, just don't expect anything out of the 1.5L, unless you want to it blown.

I want to be blown..

Kia Spectra5.

It tested well in a recent car and driver magazine for its handling. Kia's also have the best initial reliablitly rating from (JD powers, or at least I think its from them). Can't beat the warranty either. And, its not a honda civic, like everyone else has.

I was thinking about a Spectra5 untill I saw that a Subaru imprezza 2.5RS base was only about $1100 more.

But then, we kinda need to replace the family minivan from 91 (its a 91 toyota previa), so now I am looking at a Toyota Tacoma CrewCab V6 long bed, or a F-150 crew cab, or possibly an F-250 crew cab diesel. The F-250 diesel costs quite a bit more than the Tacoma or the spectra5, but it's worth it. Can't beat the sound of a diesel for a full size truck.
