YACT: New Pioneer Receiver is Too Bright

This is a pretty frustating situation.

I just installed a Pioneer receiver in my car (Honda Civic), and the receiver's reflection shows up in the top of the windshield at night.

I've set the receiver to the lowest brightness level, but it now looks like I'm going to have to return it 🙁

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

If you turned it down all the way there is nothing else you can do that will look OK.
Or maybe you could put one of those "Type-R" tint films across the top of the window.

Hmm...there is a dimmer setting which automatically dims when the car's headlights are on, but doesn't that wire just automate the process of going to the lowest LED setting?

Maybe I can give it a try.

Thanks!

Silly me. I assumed he had hooked it up correctly.

some headunits dont' have a dimmer lead..the panasonic dfq unit i installed on my bother's civic didn't have a dimmer input, but the car had a dimmer output.

I just push the button to open the cd door and let it hang face down so the light doesn't bother me. Just gotta pop it up once in awhile to adjust stuff, but it works.

Sounds like the dimmer lead isn't properly hooked-up. If it is and it's still too bright, you might consider using some plastic tint film. Of course, this would make it harder to see during the day.
