YACT: New Honda Accord, or not

This is a WHAT WOULD YOU DO thread ... I think?

Current car: "Complete POS" 1992 Nissan Sentra, manual, 140k miles. Rubbing drivers side front brake, noises all around, timing belt has maybe never been changed (I bought it used). It's worked well for almost 5 years but I think it's time to give it up.

Looking to get: 2005 Honda Accord, Red, V6, Coupe

The problem: I don't have 23k saved, more like 1/3 that ... and I'm a senior college student. My job is very part time as an internship and only pays about $250 every two weeks. I need reliable transportation to this, though, because it's my internship. It's a 1 1/2 hour drive every week, twice.

Incentive: Let's just say there's sex involved (if and only if the specs match above exactly), oh, and a new car.

I could get my dad to co-sign a loan -- maybe -- but he isn't very rich as a teacher -- I'm thinking that's the only way this is possible. I need a new car bad, too, as you can tell.

With no previous credit established (unless you have CC's or loans) you will definitely need your dad to cosign, especially with as little as you make. I don't think it's a good idea to buy the car though b/c your monthly payments over 3 years would be all the money you made in a month. You could alwasy stretch it out to 4-5 years, but do you really want to do that?

How do you plan on paying for a new car with $600/month? Who would give you the credit?

I have a 5.5k credit line, of which I always pay off the second it's due. I've had that CC for about 4 years and I use it weekly -- fairly large purchases, too.

I don't want to do it but she's serious, and it's just making me go mad thinking about it.

There has to be a way.

Don't do it, you have to factor in car maintenance costs, gas, insurance, in addition to the car payments as well... With your income, you won't have much left after paying for the car (ie. not even money for food or going out)... Sex is not worth it if it happens because of the car instead of you

Clarification...

No sex with the salesman
No sex with a hooker
I'm not gay
No money is involved with the sex

Figure the rest out

You have no money, and you can't afford payments. Your daddy will have to do more than cosign, he'll have to pay for it.
Which part of that don't you get?

Okay, no one else post anything until we get a straight answer out of this street-corner john as to what exactly the fvck a woman has to do with this car.

Um dood you are going to have to finance the car either way. You said you have about 1/3 of that - that's about 7500 more or less. Take $5K, put it as a down payment, and you would have to finance the rest.

If you're that hard up, just take $100(?) and cruise the redlight district. Sex is not worth > $20k

I think I'll move on with my life now.

Is she your gf? Or are we talking about casual sex here?

EDIT: you edited your post just when I was quoting it... Why did you remove the info?
