I can see why you fell in love - it's a beautiful car. I've always wanted a convertible, but it seems so impractical.

If you can afford it, get it. You can always dump it later if it turns out to be a PITA.

Karen yes most Chryslers suck. One really bad part of them is the trans. If it is a 3.0 v6 as long as it is taken care of you may be ok, but after working for Dodge I found that neons, thier 4 cylinder engines, and alot of thier transmissions for most of thier fleet is what keeps Chrysler in the red.

My mechanics had neons for head gaskets and my trans guy was booked solid for weeks in advance. Hardly seen a 3.0 come in for work though and most I have come in contact with had well over 100K+ but had 3 transmissions installed during that time. Hell my wife before we got married bought a 97 neon. During the 4 years she had it we had 5 transmissions and the head gaskets done on it and a rear main seal all in under 55K miles.

So if you just have to have it set aside money for sure on trans repaires/replace because you will need it.

This is exactly what the friend told the b/f. Head gaskets and transmissions. I guess i was just hoping that all this stuff pertains to the older cars and stuff that was after 2000 would have been better.

I will not die if I do not get this car. I mean, I have no problem with what I drive now. $24.00 to fill the tank, excellent gas mileage and $600. per year in insurance. But... might be a girl thing... there is something about this car that looks pretty to me. And when I saw this one, I went ..WooHoo.. but if it suck, i wont bother with it. I dont need a car at all...

kinda just like something I really like became available at a reasonable price and was right in front of me. If it were a good car, I would have it tomorrow. If not, then I will not stress it.

:)

well maybe you can get an eclipse convertible.

nah... dont like the way they look. I know, I know... they look the almost the same...

but... again, it might be a girl thing... ALMOST the same is NOT the same.

edit: this is the car I want. a Sebring Limited Convertible. If it is a good car, I will get it. If it is a crap car, I wont. But I wont get something like it... cause i would just not get anything.

Saying all Chrysler products suck because the early Sebrings (not sure about the newer ones) had a ton of products would be like me saying all girls suck and since you are a girl, you suck as well.

I don't know one person who has bought a Chrysler in the past few years that is having signficant problems.

Karen, what you should do instead of asking a whole bunch of people who like to make up answers, is go to a Sebring or Chrysler forum and ask this question. Those people might actually know. :)

It's just not worth it, unless you only care about looks and have money to blow.

Otherwise, there are more reliable automobiles.

I vote for the new pontiac as well, or the saturn, as much as it pains me to say it, and we should see them on the market in a little while I believe.
I cant remember the name of the pontiac, but the saturn is named "Sky"
those cars are hawt.

Sebring seems to granny-carish to me. Same with the t-bird...

I am 42yrs old. ;)

And I would never buy a new car. I would not spend the $$$ for something that is brand new. I like them 3-5 years old.

In that case, get a FIERO!

Uh.. she said 3-5 years old, not 23-25 years old. :p

Hahaha!! i have no intention on paying that price. The friend of the b/f has already said that it was approx. $1,000 off. And he should know, as he has been selling cars forever.
But having said that... in my area... the cost is something more like $14,326. and $15,537 if certified.
