LEXUS IS250 AWD they are pretty "slow" if you consider 0-60 in 7.5 slow but they are nice awd cars for about 30k

Audi All Road or Dodge Magnum

EDIT: I would say the Legacy Outback or Forester would provide you with the best bang for your buck, although they are not as luxurious as a BMW or Audi, they have an excellent drivetrain and are more versatile.

I would personally look at an older Audi, they were better cars back then than they are now...and you could possibly pull this off ;)

I came back from a test drive with the legacy today, I'm really loving it. I am having a bit of problem going with audi, because I plan on keeping this car for at least 6, 7 years, and have heard too many horror stories about them. Can't really get the evo because I fail at stick shift :(

Otherwise, it's looking more and more like the legacy, will definiately keep you guys updated. Thanks!

edit:
mariok, I do kinda want something luxurious, but considering the maintance problem I might encounter down the road, I might have to give up that option :( (I don't mind paying a bit higher now if it means I wouldn't have to worry about it for 7ish years)

Just to inform you, for 2008, the legacy gt's won't be a turbocharged 2.5 anymore, it'll be a 3.0 6 cylinder. Just keep that in mind if you can wait a bit longer and would rather have NA over the turbocharged sti goodness.

The Mazda CX-7 weighs 4000lbs.. almost as much as my Jeep. And it gets worse gas mileage to boot, with only 10 more horsepower, AND gets to 60mph in the same time or more. Unacceptable for a little car based crossover.

Chevy Astro minivan, AWD - we went out on a drivable beach on family vacation once in our van. It was great; all these rednecks with 50" tires and jacked up pickups looked at us like "Man, I ate something bad today 'cause I'm seeing things..."

We did just fine, though we had to turn the heat on full blast since it started overheating when we bottomed out in some deep ruts. :p

Gimme V8 power over the turbo 4 in the Legacy GT.

The Charger/300C AWD is great. Rear suspension is pulled from the E class, regular unleaded instead of premium. Not sure if you can get the Road & Track package in the Charger with AWD, but that package gives you the suspension and interior from the SRT version. Seats are out of the Viper! Cylinder deactivation means good highway MPG as well.

If you were going with a manual trans car I would say the Legacy, but the Hemi V8 mated to its 5spd auto is really nice!

I just built a 2007 Charger RT AWD and loaded up with every package but the safety pack and hit $34,500. Dealers should take another $3-$5K off.
