OK I can't decide.. both cars are nice and have their pros/cons:

1) 2006 honda accord ex-l with navi (4 cyl with auto trans - personal preference) - $24K out the door. Nice interior, ugly exterior. No sporty feel, semi-luxurious feel despite plastics. No cellphone hookup/bluetooth with navi. Great gas mileage, good price for the features.

2) 2005 Acura tsx with 8.5K miles - $24.5K - feels a little smaller but definitely more sport and luxurious. Does have slightly poorer gas mileage, no navi, and takes in premium gas.

(I would consider a new TSX but my budget per wife is $25K)

Update

Back to square one - still cannot decide.

1) same as above 2006 honda accord EX-L 4 cyl auto with navi for $24K out the door (invoice $24,800, edmunds true market value $25,171)

There is another preowned acura tsx above in #2 that has 5.3K miles, also for $24.5K, also without navi.

I was going with the accord at this point until another dealer offered me a potential deal:

3) new 2006 Acura tsx (w/o navi) - $26,300 out the door (invoice $26,051, edmunds true market value $27,849)

Ahhh.. I'm going to pull some more hair out.

if you consider auto vs auto, the difference in power is a wash. The 05 TSX only makes ~10 WHP more than an 06 accord.

After that it comes down the handling and features

A new '06 non-nav goes for about low $26k.
If you go for the TSX, spend the extra $1.5k and get more features and peace of mind.

well its for your wife/wives, and is like a family car, I would say Accord.

If it was for you, i would say TSX.

I was in the same position as you. Get the Accord. The TSX IMO is nice, but not worth it, especially since it has 8.5k miles. Who knows how hard people have driven that car in those 8.5k miles. A car that is only a year old is usually dealer/manager test car that people drive like crazy before the break-in period, therefore significantly compromising the car?s long term reliability.

Like someone said above, get the new car and peace of mind. For god sakes, its brand spankin? new, has navi, and LED lights for less moola baby! IMO the exterior looks nice in graphite pearl and medium-dark tint and the interior also has the ambient console lighting like the TSX. In the long run, it?s worth it for the room, reliability and gas savings to get the accord.

No, sorry I meant $1.5k over a used '05.

$24,500 (used '05) + $1,500 = $26,000 no-navi (new '06)

2006 w/nav goes for about $27,800

go haggle with an acura dealer to see if you can get a tsx with nav for the right price.

You can get the Accord V6 LX for $25k. It has great power and will feel more sporty. But you may want the better gas mileage with the 4 cylinder.

I would get the Accord, either the 4 cylinder or the V6.
