i intend to find a reasonable Ford Torino, 1970-1973, with body in decent shape.

then, i intend to fabricate a lot of parts for it, cut some parts, and scrap together what i can, to get it as close to what appears in this image.

Here

this will include a lot of custom parts... i'll probably buy the car itself, the front end from some dude in Oz, and make my own exhaust tubes. i'll also cut out the hood and install the supercharger.. only mine will be real. the concorde front end will also be put on. as well as the gold striped light covers. I'd install a roll cage, and lighten the whole thing a LOT. i'd be taking out the rear bench seat, both front seats would be reupholstered, and i'd install 5 point harnesses. i'd put in a short throw clutch, with the c-6 transmission, and some engine rebored from whatever it was to massive displacement. whatever the biggest bore package is.

the suspension system needs to be stiffened up a great deal. i want it to have a hard ride.

the spoilers would need to be fabricated out of fiberglass, and that's how i'd do the install. it would take lots of fiberglass resin and lots of bondo. then the whole thing would be painted black, the interior would be black as well. when i say reupholster the front 2 chairs, i mean completely strip em out and design a new set of chairs, pad them and reupholster that, so that they look completely different. i'd pick how i want the seats to look. yes, they'll have modern amenities, like tilting :p

no power windows, no power steering, no air conditioning, no power door locks. :p armed guard works just as well ;)

i intend to do this with all my own labor, and under 15000 dollars.

what you all think?

You sound like someone who has no idea what he's getting into. That will take a minimum of 2 years to do, and much more than 15,000 if you plan on having custom fiberglass parts made and fitted

Fiberglass isn't $2 a piece.....and I don't know how you think you're going to be making all these custom pieces by yourself. From you describing how you're going to take some engine and rebore it, throw a super charger on it, you're going to need a new block, new internals, you'd have to get it blue printed and balanced, a new fuel system, transmission, rear end, etc. - basically you'll be rebuilding this car from scratch, and if you don't, it'll fall apart/rust on you causing more expensive repairs which you'll come on here and b1tch about. You sound like you obviously don't know what you're getting yourself into.

yes i know i'd be rebuilding this car from scratch. that's the whole idea.

i intend to start with a decent bodied 70's torino, or go down to Oz, pick up a shell of a car for cheap, an XB coupe. then pick up the front end while im there. that should run about 2500-3000 for that package.

then i'll take it back, buy a cheap block, rebore that. that shouldnt cost too much. maybe 600 for the block, i dun know how much a rebore is.

i'll buy a supercharger. that should take about 2500, for one of the more expensive ones.

i'll say about 400 for the pipes and stuff that go into the exhaust and the roll cage.
i can weld, and i have a rolling bender for pipes. so that's no problem.

im up to about 7000 so far. to buy the rest aint gonna come up to 8000. so i think im clear.

yes, i know it'll take a lot of work. but seeing as i have no life, no job, no girlfreind, and school lets out soon, i'll have a lot of time on my hands, and 12.5 itching to be spent towards a car.

Does that include shipping or are you going to stow it away in the overhead compartment? :p
