What is the idling RPM? If it's too low, the throttle cable may need to be tweaked. (Just a wild guess)Originally posted by: nife4

when my car idles, it ends up stalling (automatic)... wtf is causing this?

Most likely a worn out ignition switch, I have seen a few of these on high mileage Ford vehicles.Originally posted by: nife4
My turn signals only work when you mess around with the ignition switch? anyone know if i can fix this w/o mechanic's help
Depends on where the leak is, but most exhaust shops could weld a crack or hole in a pipe for about twenty dollars, but knowing your car if might be the air pipe crossover tube on the back of the engine which can run into a couple of hundred dollars.also, how much will it cost to get an exhaust leak fixed
You need to clean your throttle body and the idle air control valve, unless your have the older TBI style fuel injection system, then I would look for a vacuum leak or have the Idle Control Motor diagnosis and repaired.and when my car idles, it ends up stalling (automatic)... wtf is causing this?

PSA
Until you get it fixed - if you want to make a left turn stick your left arm straight out the rolled down driver's window; for a right turn bend that arm 90 degrees at the elbow until your fingertips point skyward; for slowing or stopping rotate that bent arm until your fingertips point straight down. Turn signals not working isn't an excuse for not signaling.
PSA over
