i wouldn't attempt to fix an electrical problem if you are not good with the stuff to begin with.

also, exhaust could be leaking just about anywhere, which means costs will range from one end of the spectrum to another, if it's just a muffler, just get a cheap new muffler... (example)

stalling out during idle could also be a number of things..

what year is the car? make? model? engine? mileage? :)

Probably a loose wire in the steering column somewhere, can be hard to find, that's one for a real mechanic.

As for the rest, year, make, and model.

What is the idling RPM? If it's too low, the throttle cable may need to be tweaked. (Just a wild guess)

i'd grab a manual for the car, see if you can find a wiring diagram from someone and just look over the exhaust, if it's the flex pipe which my guess is it might be that'll be over $100 to fix you can get a temp fix but that'll only last like a year.

Most likely a worn out ignition switch, I have seen a few of these on high mileage Ford vehicles.

Depends on where the leak is, but most exhaust shops could weld a crack or hole in a pipe for about twenty dollars, but knowing your car if might be the air pipe crossover tube on the back of the engine which can run into a couple of hundred dollars.

You need to clean your throttle body and the idle air control valve, unless your have the older TBI style fuel injection system, then I would look for a vacuum leak or have the Idle Control Motor diagnosis and repaired.

This information is based on the vehicle information provided by you and may not work on other cars with similar concerns.

Good Luck,

PSA
Until you get it fixed - if you want to make a left turn stick your left arm straight out the rolled down driver's window; for a right turn bend that arm 90 degrees at the elbow until your fingertips point skyward; for slowing or stopping rotate that bent arm until your fingertips point straight down. Turn signals not working isn't an excuse for not signaling.
PSA over

How much would the first part cost me? When I had my turn signal switch replaced... that ran me $125 so that range?

and for the Last part... How would i go about doing all of that?

The Ignition Switch is only ten dollars at Autozone and if you get a repair manual there too you could install it with simple hand tools.

Cleaning the throttle body isn't too hard but if you haven't ever worked on cars before it could be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. I would provide you instructions if I knew which fuel system you car had to begin with.

Yeah, but I've seen all those episodes of Cops where the peace officer starts by saying "That car didn't signal so I'm going to pull it over and check it out." If you've seen the show you know that nothing good for the driver happens after that. :Q
