YACT: Jetta - What is it? Chick car?

I test drove a Jetta yesterday and it seems pretty nice. It's got all the options and everything. It seems to be a good deal. It's a 2003 GLS 2.0 for about 16k. The real question is.... Should I get it? Is it a "chick car" or is it a good car? What are your thoughts on it?

2000 Jetta GL represent! Besides trashing the front by rear ending someone, getting my left mirror clipped by some idiot, and my dad cracking the windshield, and coolant hose bursting for some unknown reason, it's been problem free.

most jetta drivers I see are high school/college age girls... but i believe its unisex.

the Beetle on the other hand... CHICK CAR!!

I personally think that they are kind of for girly or weak men. Like, a really sensitive guy would drive a jetta.

BTW don't pass this car up because it's a chick car. Pass it up because VW jetta has pissant reliability. Ditto for the golfs.

What? Sensitive, like he would keep a journal? I always envisioned guys who are into yogurt and soy, and probably do not hunt. And they have to have bad haircuts.

Probably a slim guy, but not of a big build. Possibly keeps a journal. Definitely writes poems to his fiance.

I would deem that it is a chick car but, like others have mentioned on here, the Beetle is much more feminine.
Biggest chick car on the planet, by a long shot. I heard that the beetle actually has a little place for the flower, which is why every freaking beetle on the road has a flower.

I remember some thread that attempted to stereotype cars and their drivers. An older sales guy with a comb-over driving a Mazda Miata sticks in my mind...

the only car that's more of a chick car is the VW Cabrio.

basically, anything with VW on it is a chick car. i know you GTI guys will try to argue otherwise, but i'm sorry, every VW ever made was a chick car.

If you're a guy and you're going to buy a Jetta, the least you can do is get it with an engine that can move a little. Please, I beg you, don't buy the base engine if you are seriously considering this car.

There are no words in the english language to describe how incredibly stupid you are.

The Touareg and the Pheaton are NOT chick cars! The Eurovan, Passat, and GTI are fairly gender neutral as well.

Got identity problems? If you like the car, and it fits the bill for you, buy it. Pay no attention to peer pressure, its meaningless.

Well.... I didn't buy the car. Not because of it being a chick car, but because they didn't want to come down to my price.
