That's pretty typical looking for an Asian truck in Japan and Taiwan. The roads just aren't as big, and if they are, they're in the city and they're not moving too fast. The Asians are generally not driving as far or as fast as Americans.

It will be dog slow, but should putt along just fine with semis. 58hp is more than enough to keep that thing going at 65mph.

Consumer pickup trucks in the states are way overpowred for its purpose.

2/5 ton payload isn't too bad for that thing is it?

Really nice for the average household stuff. While you can't fully load the bed with gravel, you can carry just about any furniture, a small four wheeler, motorcycle, shop equipment etc.

A lot of stuff people carry are bulky while not super heavy.

Actually, I reconsider, it would be COOL to have one, and just load it in the back of a bigger truck and drive around with it. Pointless, but cool.

If the bed was wide enough, I could do that with my Bug and a 1 ton truck :)

MSRP is about $10,000 with 5speed manual with extra low forward/reverse mode. $11,000 for 3 speed AT.

The non turbo model is around $8,500.

I've seen them in NYC. The Parks Dept use trucks like that.

FWIW, those K cars and trucks are limited to 660cc or less. My friend had a very nice Subaru AWD Turbo charged K car. The interior was very nice and the car was perfect for its purpose.

I've owned a few pickups, and I have driven lots of pickups, none were what I would call over-powered.

You're expecting passenger car like performance out of them. Semi's weigh like 80,000 lbs and the engine is something like 400hp. That gives you a power to weight ratio of 40hp per 8,000 lbs.

Well that's definitely too much. $5-8k and then my interest will be piqued.
