You mean the relocated B Pillar adds stiffness. However, since the car's chassis has to compromise between being a 2 and a 4 dr, you could contend that if it were built from the ground up to be a 2 door, it'd be stiffer than the 2 door that saw production.

all volkswagon are chick cars, except for the GTI. they are right up there with mercury capris and base model mustangs. it wouldn't stop me from buying one (i willing drive a maroon station wagon, so i obviously don't have any insecurity issues), but people shouldn't have any delusions about what they're getting. i don't care what engine it has, VW's are chick cars.

lol...the only dudes getting vehemently pissed in this thread have to be either Jetta drivers or VW fanboys.

Oh, and yes it most definitely is a chick car. 🙂 Sure you have your VR6s and your modded Jettas, but the vast majority of them are parked in shopping malls, beauty salons, and all-girl dorms at this very moment.

How about the Passat, or the Eurovan? I know a lot of guys who drive those.

I wanted something, roomy, comfortable, luxurious, and that didn't get less than 20 MPG and wallowed around corners.

VW's best looks are in their early 90s models, where some of their best looking, the MK2 GoLf/Jetta, Sirroco, and Corrado came out those years. The current Jettas especially are not as well styled as they used to be in terms of looking mean. Its still is better than most cars on the road though.
