I would be worried since it's a Jeep. For the record, i'm not an American vehicle hater but Jeeps have been known to be POS vehicles. My sis had a 2001 Grand Cherokee that had issues left and right. Electrical issues, brake calipers failing after 20,000 miles, etc.
 
you don't need to repair anything except the tail light that is letting in water. You don't need fog lights and if everything else works, you got yourself transportation. I know what you mean about rich friends. I was the poorest kid at a private high school and I drove (and still drive) a 1995 ford escort wagon that cost 2000$. They drove brand new grand cherokees, new cars, new pickup trucks, volvos, etc. (rich kid cars). Who cares. You will be more independent in the future than your friends anyways
