YACT: Instability between 50-55MPH

Turbovan. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with power - since it started right after I added new rubber to all 4 corners. Ride is smooth and clean up to about 50 - and then crap starts vibrating. If you cruise between 50 and 55, it'll try to shake your teeth out. Go above that, it's smooth again. WTF? I thought it might be a simple balancing issue, but shouldn't that get worse as I accelerate above that?

Recent maintainence:
- 4 new tires
- New starter
- Oil change
- CV boot replaced

Thoughts?

I used to have that problem. It went away when I converted to front disc brakes and repacked my wheel bearings.

Tires + CV boot probably = your problem.

Hey, don't knock my tires man. That's some quality off-brand ghetto student-rubber made out of used condoms pulled from dorm toilets.

Have your rotors checked out, sometimes they can cause vibrations at certain speeds.

Well, I can tell you this right now - my rotors are perfectly fine. Primarily because they don't exist.

I'd say the tires are out of balance, since it started right after you got new tires.

Well, everything I mentioned in the OP was done within 48 hours - and I didn't get to drive it between them. So it may well have been there, but the other drivers are too clueless to notice.
