Looking at the specs on the Focus, and numbers posted for it, I really don't know who in their right mind would take that car over a VW GTi 1.8t??? Their prices are similar, as are their specs, but the VW has soooo much more room for tuning, only further distancing itself from the Ford.

I really dislike the VW shifters... 1.8t's are nice, but there is also power to be had out of the Focus...

I'm not turning whatever car I get into a drag car as it is, in fact I'll be hard pressed to mod it more than a few basic bolt-ons. Its just my personal preference.

It looks almost identical to the Rabbit my parents drove in the 80s :)

I can agree with you on that. The clutch action and shift feel on my '95 was much better than on the newer ones. Clutch engagement really is the only weak spot on VW/Audi's. The throws are too long, and their is too much range in the clutch. I'm sure it's something that would become second nature in time, and the long clutch travel is easy to learn on, but it is sort of annoying if you aren't used to it.

Yeap I'd take a VW over an equally performing/costing Ford any day of the week.

You're gonna have to hit the books again as you're incorrect :p.

The new Tiburon has more front headroom, shoulder room, and legroom than the Lexus IS300, Acura CL, Mercedes SLK, BMW M3*...any other coupes I've left out?

*less shoulder room but more headroom and legroom

Yep, that was one of main things I didn't like in my A4 1.8T, it felt like I was rowing a boat! :p I had a Neuspeed Short Shifter installed and it made a WORLD of difference!
