Negative, connecting rods and the crank are the first to go unless of course you own a late model Ford with their el stinko modular engine, these blow spark plugs out just from running.
So that's where the spark plugs you always see on the side of the road come from....

if it didn't die on its own you probably didn't hydrolock it. most likely you got something wet that shouldn't be. pop hood and let it dry. also check fluids for foaming. check for fuel flow by pressing the little schrader valve on the fuel rail( assuming FI) then dry out anything wet in the ignition system.
