took about 3 hours to pull the plugs, get the water out, and get it refired. It started though! 😀 It runs like absolute garbage, but i made it home. Tomorrow: oil change, differential fluid change, transfer case fluid change, new plugs, wires, and whatever else I find wrong. Now, i'm going to drink

Holy smokes, you went 4x4ing in a Grand Cherokee?! You're one in a million, dude. 🙂
Hope all your interior electrical is still alright.

Roger, can you help me with this one. My brakes feel better afterwards. I have needed a new master cylinder for about 2 weeks now, but afterwards it felt much tighter.

Coincidence or water has entered your system changing the brake fluids operating characteristics.

hell yes! Its our trail limo. Nothing like 4 wheeling with auto dimming mirrors and power leather seats. All the internal electrical works fine. My wipers wont turn off though 😀

I do not want to come off in a worrysome way. If the engine sucked enough water to lock it, the chances of a bent connecting rod are present.

If after you get it back on the road and the engine has picked up a vibration that was not there before. It most likly would be this condition, if not your OK................

the engine was cut as soon as I realized it was too deep, but water still got in. It cranked very easily, though, after we ejected the water. nothing like seeing water jets shoot 7 feet in the air from each cylinder. The vibes were not bad on the freeway, and i would attribute them to the mud on the rims.

BTW, i did that because I am stupid and didnt check depth before I went in. Add to the fact that the hole dropped about 8" to the driver side, causing my intake to become submerged. It was a recipe for stupidity. I indeed had a bowl of stupid for breakfast.

That's what I was thinking.

Hmmmmm....

Was this a showoff move?

"Hey... Watch!"

...

"Oops.."

an unmodded H1 would have had issues with that. They wouldnt have the water issue, but that mud sucked you down.

Which again begs the question - WTF were you thinking???

It looks like most everyone before you had the brains to stick to the high ground 😛

Or were all those tracks made AFTER you got stuck and they're like "Oh crap. Not gonna try that"

the girl is Lola, and she is taken, even after this incident. Though I didnt get some nasty stares while working on it. The mcdonalds cups became spark plug cleaners to get the mud off the threads, etc. The straw became instant on board air to clena up the spark plug wells.

Almost 30 years ago I had a buddy that was getting to know this girl(in the biblical sense) in the back the back seat of his car when the parking brake let go slowly and it slid into the lake while it was idling.

We pushed it to the top of a hill got it going real fast and had him let the clutch out(hey, young and dumb). It ran like a champ. I guess you can do that if the valves and rings are leaky enough without blowing a head-gasket.😱

Tut tut, it ain't like I was going to move to Michigan just to try to steal your girl. 😛

I did that too my ttruck, but the engine kept right on running. Nothing like having the air intake 4' from the ground 🙂

mine is about that high too, but i hit the water too fast. My throttle body is about 1-2" below the top of the hood

damn i still need to borrow my friends vid of the echo off roading, man its great, i know who it was, and im not sure if he still visits here or not, but classic, you havent seen anything until you see an echo in a gravel pit with four-wheelers looking at him like an idiot, or the rear passenger side tire 3 ft off the ground.
