I may inherit my grandparents car, and am not liking the old person gold. How much does a paint job usually go (a good one)?

Try to find a local mom & pop type place.....I have one where i live and they have always done an outstanding job with the single stage paints they use. They may need to keep it for a couple of weeks, but only charge $600/$700- and you cannot tell it has been repainted nor have I had any issues with the paint. Call around and you might get lucky.

I went to Maaco for an estimate for my mother's car. They showed me a Volvo they painted at the cheapest price and it looked like crap! Then they showed me an Explorer that had one of the more expensive jobs (~$800) and it looked great, but not as good as a factory job. From 10 feet away, you wouldn't know it was repainted. YMMV. Don't have a clue how the paint ages though.
