whats up car gurus. anyway. i just got back from a joyride with my brother in a lancer evolution he borrowed from his buddy. man, it was sweet. so much power, sounds great too. feels 10x for oomph than my dad's camry. and the ride was a lot smoother than my brother's S2000 too. what are your guys' thoughts on this car? does anyone here have one?

man, and the turbo, it was tight, you could hear that whooshing sound like you hear in the racing video games like rallisport challenge. ITS REAL! i thought it was fake. man, i totally liked this more than my brother's incredilously obnoxious s2000.

do you guys think this car is worth it? i think i should buy one!!!

Lancer Evo = the shizzle! I wish they wouldn't have watered it down for the USDM though :( That and get rid of those stupid rice lights. If I had the money I'd still get one though :)

I love everything about them but the price. At $30k, I think it's just a bit too high. Otherwise, I used to own a DSM which had more or less the same drivetrain in a 2 door coupe form, and they're a lot of fun.

I don't know about the mitsubish name but those evos are definitely bad ass. Their g cornering is absolutely out of this world too. I don't want to get the number wrong, but it's ridiculously grippy for a car of that price. And $30k isn't cheap but the thing is darn fast!

DSMs rock! I own a 91 Talon TSi AWD and I must say it's quite a fun car. I just wish I would've purchased one in better condition :( I've spent way too much money fixing this thing up (around $7000 over the course of 9 months) and there's still quite a bit left to be done. Oh well, some day I'll get her running right and then I'll start the mods!

Not to mention in that Supercar shootout, the Evo got the second highest slalom speed (second to a $200k Mosler). The car has tight steering and you can toss it around corners at reckless speeds quite comfortably.

No. It means there's more traction. The measurement is the maximum outward "centrifugal" force you get circling a skidpad.

More traction = Tighter Turning

its so loud. geez. when im sitting in it, its screams like there's no tomorrow. its not the rice-boy kind of obnoxious- i think that sounds like something is broken. the s2k is like... high RPM obnoxious. but at lower RPMs it does sound pretty nice. the evo sounded pretty loud too, but it wasnt as high pitched, it was more of that whooshing wind sound, rather than a whine from an s2k. im going to try to do more comparisons, as soon as monday comes, ill go ride in the s2k again.

so far i think the s2k has a cooler interior, its more cramped, but it feels more sporty and focused. the lancer interior is nice, but its kind of bland.

No. More traction does not affect the turning radius of the car. More traction affects the car's ability to take a given turn at a higher speed. More traction = more speed.

lets see... deal with crappy mitsubishi dealer, pay out the nose for a glorified econobox barely suited to city streets, and then have every ricer on the planet spooge your paint... no, i don't think i'd want that

I dont like it as much as a STi but C&D rate it's overall better than the STi... It is pretty expensive, isn't it ? like 30K. It may be cool to have a car like that but everything has a baggage... Cops will ticket you for just having it (speeding) and people will key it because you have one.. Unless you live in a really nice place where everyone has one..

They have really bad maintenance schedules...liek 4000 miles on the Evo 8 or something stupid but that sir is one bad ass car and with something like 300HP under the bonnet it competes well with the STi...doesnt feel as powerful as the STi but handles twice as well and feels much more refined.

No kiddin, I hear it every day :p;)

I wouldn't mind taking an Evo out for a spin, hell, if I had the cash, I'd probably put a down payment on one...
