WTF does a tuneup have to do with the clutch? 😕
What exactly do you mean? You release the clutch slowly, and at a certain point it jerks the car back and forth?

Sounds like your clutch is chattering. Hmm, it could be glazed from being ridden (tho I kinda doubt it?). The other thing is it could have oil on it (are you losing oil/see any puddles?). Oil on a clutch will almost definitely make it chatter.

What year is that? I'm waiting for a dealership callback on a 94 LE coupe myself. Mint shape, one owner, and good price. 🙂

lol
look at the car. it leaks everything!
lol... i replaced the clutch like last year over summer. it would really suck if it's already out of whack. my father drove the car, he doesnt say anything...so maybe it's just my driving.
oh, and in other news, on the advice of the people of atot on what's ghetto, i now have a white t-shirt as my seat-cover. it's to cover that worn over and decomposing area visible in one of the pics.

Was the rear main seal replaced? If not then it may be leaking since it's probably been in there a long time. I know mine leaked and caused my brand new high-performance clutch to chatter. Fixed the leak and the chatter stopped. My friend's Mustang also chatters because he's losing oil out of the rear.

the entire thing's been rebuilt 2x. so i can only assume.
this last time, they sold my father junk, and he didnt question it... so he installed it, and now we get 400 miles per quart of oil. if that.

Ok, then I would definitely guess oil leak as to the cause of your problem.

Bullshat - be gentle with new cars - stuff from the 80's and before can be ragged to death for a good 10 more years or so. They don't build 'em like they used to.

My sarcasm meter must need new batteries.
WTF are you talking about? 😛 As if there's been a significant change in car quality over the last 20 years? Actually, there probably has.. but it hasn't been minus overall. 😛
I imagine that could be true. Maybe they realized they were shooting themselves in the proverbial foot by overengineering everything. Or maybe they just cut costs on the little things in the cabin. I'm pretty sure newer cars are more solid overall than older ones. Newer technology, better understanding, etc...Originally posted by: NutBucket

If anything I think a lot of cars are designed to last about 10-20 years. I know on my Accord a lot of the "little stuff" is breaking. Stupid stuff like some plastic clips and things like that. Or the chrome coming off some of the plastic bits.
