How does the Monaro/GTO handle?

edited cause I had no facts to back up my claim of the GTO being a better handling (or equal to) the G35/350Z.

But it does kick ass in the Aussie V8 Supercar challenge (all road courses).

I do remember watching a race on Speed where it competed against the Skyline GTR (and did well).

If anyone wants to go pick up the new MT, there isa review on the GTO. And they praise the handling, (were very surprised). I can scan it.. that would be OK with the mods, right? They get 0-60 in 5.3 and the 1/4 in 13.6. And that's with the mag drivers, I wonder what it will do when the enthusiasts get their hands on them.

The funny thing about the GTO is everyone was saying that they hoped Pontiac wouldn't make the GTO ugly. Well, the GTO has been left the same as the Monaro except for minor changes, and everyone calls it bland. What the hell?

Look at the Pontiac Solstice. That shows that GM/Pontiac can make, clean, original designs with some flair. The GTO has bland Japanese style written all over it.

Hell, if this car were to drop from the sky right now w/o any badges on and we didn't know anything about the Holden Monaro before hand, you'd all be calling it another boring Toyota/Honda coupe.

Would you rather they made it look like the concept?
I think they made the right decision of sticking with the Holden design rather than their own.
Also, G35 coupe is one of my current favorite cars, but it is basically a 2+2 350Z, while the GTO is a 2+2 Vette, and the Vette owns G35c.

I was under the impression that HSV uses Commodores? The Monaro used to be used but it's a bit TOO porky to compete with lighter and slightly smaller cars. Even so... I'm betting it's a great platform if you could get rid of a lot of that extra pork and get a more aggressive suspension on it.
