Somewhat inspired by this thread, post pictures of you favorite classic muscle cars.

More specifically 1960 - 1978 (has to be 25 years old to be a classic) AMERICAN muscle.

There are SOOOOOOOOO many great cars, so I just limited myself to the mustang. I hope you guys come up with the rest of the great muscle cars - Camaro, Challenger, Charger, GTO, 442, etc

1966 Hertz Shelby GT350H Mustang
1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
1968 428 CobraJet Fastback Mustang
1969 Boss 302 Mustang
1970 Boss 429 Mustang
1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Thank you for not posting pics of that "Eleanor" car. People actually think that's what a GT500 looks like now.

I always liked the road runner because of the HUGE wing! This was only due to it being on the rear fenders so it had to have clearance for the trunk.

OEM rice. Nice.

Well, you didn't post a picture of the AC Cobra, and if you read my post, you would see that I just posted Mustangs for a reason...

Why Mustang over AC Cobra? I didn't post a link to pictures, because EVERYBODY knows what it is. Not so with the venerable Buick GS.

WTF does a Mustang have to do with an AC Cobra? I didn't post a link to pictures, because EVERYBODY knows what it is. Not so with the venerable Buick GS.
Wow - you are ornery, aren't you.

I posted pictures of mustangs. You mentioned the Cobra without posting a picture for us all to ogle over and I called you on it. As far as the GS is concerned, It's a winner!

My Fav probably because my Dad owns one and I helped him restore it. His has a vinyl top though and a few other quirks that make it one of about 1,950 of them.

Oh, and it is 1968 SS 427

Buick's 100th Birthday Party this Weekend. - yellowfiero 07/21/2003
  • Buick GS History
    • 1970 saw the greatest Buick GS of all time. GM finally lifted its corporate ban of engines larger than 400 cubic inches in an intermediate body and Buick responded by stuffing a brand new 455 cubic inch engine into its restyled GS. The 455 boosted more displacement, bigger valves, and a hotter cam than the 400 and was also mated to standard cold air induction through functional hood scoops. The 455's was rated at 350bhp and a stump pulling 510lb-ft of torque. This was the highest torque rating of any production engine besides Cadillac's 472 and 500 cid V-8s, and no engine achieved it at a lower rpm (2800rpm).

      0-60 in 6.5 sec, 1/4 mile in 13.8 sec @ 101 mph.
33 years ago, using a normally aspirated, automatic in a 3,460 lb. car!
