Doesn't the glass used in late model cars (specifically the windshield) block most UV rays as it is?
EDIT
I'm asking because we're getting my gf's 06 Accord tinted tomorrow and she's considering whether to get a clear windshield layer as well. It is something they started offering end of last year and I got it on my GTO.
There are two versions: UV only ($125) and UV + heatblocker ($200). They have a little demonstration with a heatlamp and some pieces of glass - the heatblocker works well in their demonstration. I got the UV + heatblocker on my GTO and I have no need for sunglasses driving in my car - a world of difference compared to my Subaru which has none of the above. She had thought about only getting the UV since it is cheaper, but I don't see the point as the windshield should block at least SOME of the UV rays by itself. Go all or go none if you ask me
