How about a used Navigator (or is that not midsize)?

I second the Grand Cherokee though..especially with the 5.9L!

Envoy/Trailbrazer seems to fare rather poorly in Consumer Report's Reliability data, but those owned in here seemed to enjoy it with trouble free experience, dunno if they're majority or minority here.
Myself, I like the Nissan Murano, only bad thing is the ride which is a tad stiff for my taste.

Or a Lincoln Aviator. You didn't give a price range, but you should check those out. They are the best SUV I have ever driven and have TONS of power. Look it up on Edmunds. The bad part is you get about 14MPG in the city.

Is it?

"Despite having the highest horsepower of the group, the TrailBlazer EXT delivered the slowest acceleration and worst gas mileage of this group."
"The 275-hp, 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine was not especially responsive and averaged a mere 13 mpg on regular fuel."

quotes are from the latest Consumer Reports Issue. Looks like the real winners are the Honda Pilot, Nissan Murano, Toyota Highlander, Mitsu Endeaver, and Toyota 4Runner.

Humm, most things I've read on the I6 have been positive. That is the EXT model which has 3 rows of seats. AFAIK those others are 2 rows. I have about 700 miles on mine and average 21 on the highway and 17 in the city.

Anyone know of a site that lists reliability ratings of vehicles?

Why do you have to get a domestic?

The whole made in the USA thing (I know - I know), and because I know friends who've had $700 brake jobs (pads and spin the rotors) on their SAAB 9000s. I'll take a pass on that thank you very much.
OMG, they gotz teh shaft!
