Also, a Saab 9-3 could be had in that price range. As could possibly a Caddy CTS.

Assuming you have no qualms going with a GM product. 🙂

I looked at the Saab a little bit before, and it was one of the others I was interested in (along with the Audi A4, I think). The Caddy is fugly, though. It's rare for me to find new vehicles that I like. I looked at Chevy's lineup initially, but they haven't made a decent looking car in years.

I too am a tall guy who prefers stick (I currently drive a 2001 Maxima SE with 5-speed).

Have you driven the TSX? That's a pretty small car for someone 6'5". I'd be curious how comfortable you are in one.

I really would look at the Legacy GT - curiously enough, Subaru has improved their interiors to the point they are the nicest in this price range (with the possible exception of VW). I love those, and IMO they are reasonably handsome.

The TL is a killer setup if you can deal with FWD, and I imagine you could get a year-old one for similar money to a new TSX.

G35 6MT
Base MSRP $30,750.00*

298hp 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine
6-speed manual transmission
Includes Sport-tuned Suspension Package

..and thats MSRP

The new Lexus IS250 might be an option as well. Not sure what it is going to sticker at.

You can get the base 2.5L V6 with a 6MT.

I haven't done test drives on any of them yet. The TSX is actually a little bigger than my Corsica, and is supposed to have 42.4" of leg room (the Corsica supposedly has 43.4") and 37.8" of headroom to the C's 38.1". The Mazda is 42.3" leg, 38.7 head. The Nissan is a little better at 43.9" and 40.8".

I do like Lexus, but I'm guessing it'd be in the low 30's...aka TL range.

I would've gotten the tsx... but i opted for the rsx instead. vroom vroom. I think I should've gotten the tsx... so nice 😀

You are teetertottering on your price. I mean what is it exactly? Don't forget TTL. I was the same way but soon 25k budget becomes 27k, then oh a little more. Soon you won't be able to make payments. Are you in the 30k range or not? That's entering TL, Lexus IS range like you said. Then you are in a whole new ballgame.

The altima's interior is huge.

I have a 2.5SL and everyday I wish I would've gotten the 3.5SE (it actually would've been less for a base 3.5SE, and alittle more for a 3.5SE w/ the upgraded audio)

I have some friends that went out and bought a 2.5SL for around $27,000 after all the options added up. And they complain about wanting more power too.

I told them that they should have just shunned an option or two and got the bigger engine in the first place for the same $$.

Gas milage between the two is pretty much a wash. The V6 might get a MPG or two less...but the extra grunt is worth it.

Less than $30,000. People keep suggesting $30,000+ vehicles, so I'm just saying that if I was somehow able to go that high I'd probably go with the TL and nothing else. The TSX is the most expensive on the list, so that's the highest I'd want to go right now.

It's very cheap feeling and looking. It balls up into little fuzzies, etc., and mine is lighter (tan) colored - always looks dirty even when it's clean. I've always had cloth, and never had a problem with it, so I didn't know it would be such an issue here, but if I had known, I wouldn't have gotten this car (even though I got a very good deal).

Subaru STi

There's been plenty of Subaru love here already. 😛

Legacy GT? I think you can squeeze one under $30K.

Much better looking than the Impreza for those who aren't Subaru whores.

Much rather have that than any of the ones you've mentioned thus far.

Viper GTS

Hmm, thanks for the heads-up.
