YACT: Do you regret buying your car?

My dad just went through a similar conundrum. He was gonna get a 13-16k 03-04 Camry, but instead bought an 05 Outback for 18k. It was justafiable though because we need a better vehicle for camping/jauling/towing stuff. A Camry just ain't suited for hauling dirtbikes to the trails.

I got my '93 Civic for free (hand-me down) but had to learn how to drive stick and spend around $800 to get some stuff fixed. I don't really regret it.

Nope. My little Mazda cost me 13 thousand.
No regrets.

I have a penis so there is no need for an F-350 or something similar.
If I ever have the practical need for a pickup, it will be something efficient.
Probably the cheapest Ranger with 4WD. The XLT I think?

It's not like we're all under 5'10". I couldn't get 1 leg under the sterring wheel of a little Mazda.

I think a truck that fits me is the best way to go. No sense prattling on about appearances. That is so 2002...

Fits you how? My wifes Civic is the first car I drove where I had to move the seat forward. The appearances you are referring to may be more self reflective than practical. Not that that's wrong, but your critisism has no basis.

Got these from google:
Civic: front leg room (inches): 42.6
Ram: Front:. Head room: 40.8 Leg room: 41.0
Suburban: front leg room (inches): 41.3
Mazda 3: Front Leg Room: 41.90

Nope. Bought a 1992 Honda Accord when I was 17 in 2001 for $4500, and I still have it. Don't plan on changing cars for at least a few years.

not really. i mean, i probably could have talked the seller down a little more, but $1 fit the budget so i said the hell with it

<3 mom and dad lol

sometimes. I mean, a new car isn't the ideal purchase, but after going through 4 used cars that had their handful of trouble (my family in total), I said screw it and took a dive. I knew full well I shouldn't have, but my mazda3 is fun to drive. I plan on keeping it until it dies though.

My only major regret is I should have looked more into finding a used RWD car 🙂 But that's why I'm saving for a 2nd gen mx5 for auto-x (it's a very long term goal right now.. haha)

I don't know why anyone would buy a car over $15k. You can get perfectly good vehicles between $10-15k that will perform at least 5+ years. Just saying if you depreciate them that long, it's a lot better than paying more for something that you'll want to get rid of just as quick.
