The battery on my car died and although I have a 75 month limited warranty and I only bought it two years ago I bought it from Montgomery Wards and it's only free replacement for the first 18 months... so.....

Where should I go, what should I buy and how much will it cost?

This is the second battery that has died on me after 2 years in this car... so I'd like a good warranty.

Thanks.... :)

First thing I would do is check and see if someone has picked up the service contracts for Montgomery Wards. 18 months pro rated out of 72 would be a significant savings vs a new battery. As for where to buy I get mine from a chain called Trak Auto and have never had any problems with them or getting them replaced if they die before they should.

Warranty Information

The links off that page seem dead ATm so here is the parent company as well.

Thanks all,

Especially Linflas for being so thorough. It's been dead for a couple of weeks.... I checked it out in that time and couldn't find anywhere that had picked up the warranty. :(

Unfortunately I discovered a need to have the car work by tomorrow and don't have time to d!ck around with it anymore... se la vie (sp?)

Guess I'll head up to Wally World and get one... thanks for the input everybody :D :)

Its spelled c'est la vie.

Also, a word of adivce: Get a 2 year free replacement MINNIMUM. I got a new batt when my alt died last year. About 2 weeks ago, the battery was so weak I had to take 4 times to crank the engine until it finally caught. Went to k-mart, the guy looked at the date code, and just gave me a new one.
