get a volt meter and check voltage post to post, then check positive post to a bolt on the frame, and then follow the hot wire down to the starter and check it from there to negative pole/bolt on the frame.

Just checked the black box connected to the positive post on the battery and, it has fuses (fusible links according to the manual) in it. One of them (for the alternator) was blown. The problem is how to remove it. The thing wouldn't budge and when I pried it off the metal contacts stayed connected and the plastic came off. Just pry them off with a pliers and slap a new one in, this time with the correct fuse (50A instead of 30)?

EDIT: Found the screws, brute force FTL.

I've lost count of how many times I've pried something apart on my car because I couldn't figure out how it was fastened together. After you do it you usually see the fastening mechanism right away and start kicking yourself, lol. Electrical tape that pig back up once you get the fuse replaced and it should be fine. Did you replace the fuse yet and did it work?

Good work! Nothing like fixing your own car and having the satisfaction of knowing you just saved yourself $200 bucks for a mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem.
