Sunday afternoon I'm driving home after being called in to work and my rear driver side tire blows out. I pull over and throw on the spare on the side of a busy highway. Lots of fun. Later on I go to my bro in laws to watch some football and tell him about the tire, we go out and notice I've got another tire wearing funny on the front passenger side. Apparently my little fender bender last month shifted more than just the bumper around. Time for an alignment and 2 tires.
Monday morning I look around at tire prices and decide to give my local Ford dealer a call... maybe they stock my Lightning tires? Nope they don't stock them but can get them Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday at the latest. Prices are decent so I let them order 2 of them. One to replace the blown tire, another to replace the worn tire.
Monday at lunch I look at my front driver side tire... what a surprise (
)... it's worn funny too. :| I think to myself maybe I should call back and order a 3rd tire?
On the way home a kid in a Jeep pulls up next to me and points out that my front passenger side tire is flat. I pull over and look and see that it is going flat, but not blown like the rear one so I say screw it and finish getting home without damaging the wheel any. I look at the other tires and notice my rear passenger tire has a small carpenters staple in it. Why does this not surprise me at this point? I go inside and call the dealership back and ask if I can change my order from 2 tires to 4. They say sure no problem.
This morning I get a call saying they have some bad news. It's going to be Wednesday afternoon or Thursday before they get the tires since they had to get them from another warehouse. Bleh it'd take me 2 days to get them from Tirerack anyway so I say that's fine. So now I sit and wait without a vehicle to get around in... bumming rides from coworkers and family members.
Options:
1.) Continue bumming rides for another day or 2 to get to and from work.
2.) Bro in law has a regular F150... put his spare on the front if it fits. 2 spares can't be any worse than 1 right?
If I go the 2 spare tire route... should I put them both on the front or the back? I'm sure they'd make a little bit of noise if I put them on the rear hehe... Lightnings do spin tires pretty easy ya know.
BTW the tires are full size spares... mine is a Firestone tread separation special... assume his probably is to.
Summary for those of you too lazy to read my whole story:
2 days + 2 flat tires + 3 days until new tires arrive = 1 frustrated Lightning owner.
