Someone take this guy's man-card away from him.

You have been "REVOKE" due to mentioning the word "kiA$$" in a serious car thread topic.

Also, I see th 350Z and c230 (sedan version) ALOT on the road around here. Along with the 325i. Not so much the G35 though.

If you aren't completely thumbing your nose at sedans, I'd give the Legacy GT from Subaru a look. Also the new S40 from Vovlo.

Very nice looking car and very fun to drive.

Forget the dealers.... buy a banged up '86 BMW... send a tape to MTV and ask them to "pimp ur ride"..

Before you know it, XZBIT will show up at your door, the guys at WCC will turn your car into something "colorful"...(potentially) better than any of your first options.... with a big plasma tv and a game console....

It beats going to a dealer and paying $100 for floor mats.....
just a thought

A fun of a car that the 350Z is... I would NOT use one as an everyday car. It is a tiring car to drive, esp if you try to drive it fast.

The RX8 is nice, but it is very gutless... no torque means you're being beat uphill by V6 Camrys and Avalons, embarrassing for a car that looks like it does. The C230 SC makes a great commuter everyday car... my coworker (we work for MBUSA) has put 50k on it already within the first year and a half.

Agreed on the Subaru Legacy GT. Comes in manual or 5spd Automatic, and won Car of the Year in Japan.

i was actually coming in here to say the same thing..

a 5spd LGT can be picked up pretty cheap right now, good incentives from Subaru. As fast a stock 350z, plus a whole lot cheaper and easier to mod if your in to that kind of thing.

The Legacy GT has a high depreciation value and bad "true cost to own" according to Edmunds and other places. I might drive it to see how I like it but it would have to jump out and bite me in the A$$ in terms of impressing me to make me add it as a fourth option to consider. The Mustang GT WAS a fourth, but I crossed it off because of A) lack of availability and B) I don't want to pay 10K or more OVER sticker price. The Legacy GT is one of those cars you really NEED to add side skirt and a rear spoiler to make it look decent. Otherwise it looks like my old toyota corolla with a scooped hood.

get the RX-8!!! Its such a gorgoeus car, handles beautifully, a sports car that seats 4 real people, and good power (if you want to keep the revs high).

I would love to have one . .. . . maybe in 5 years . . . . .

Go for the C230. If this is the 05 model you're talking about, it is a great car with the way it has been redesigned. You should be walking out of the dealer with a C230 Sport with 6 Speed for around 32-33k.

G35C is very good although you cant fit too much in the trunk either. My friend couldn't fit his computer case in =P.

I seriously prefer the Acura TL over the G35 though.

UPDATE!!

Stopped off again at a few different dealers, including the mercedes to see if the guy had found a manual C-Class coupe. Well no manual but the dealership just grabbed a 2003 C320 coupe, automatic, with 8K miles and fully loaded that day. Blue exterior, white interior, "panoramic" sun-roof, custom alloy 17" wheels, and tons of other stuff like 6 disc changer and bose system are some of the stuff right off my head. Not worried about the audio stuff cause I'll probably change it out when I get the chance. He showed me their purchase slip for $21K on it. Said if I wanted it, he'd do $22.5K or they are going to sticker it at $26.1K after certification. If I wanted to wait for the pre-certified testing it's another $1,095 but gives me another year on the warranty and makes it free maintance costs for the remainder of the warranty. He needed to print up the official sticker before I could think of buying it so going to come back tomorrow. Kelly blue book online lists the car at $25.8K with those features for suggested retail and a trade-in value of $23K. Well, someone got raped trading it in but that's how it goes I guess. If he does $22.5K for me, and I can get him to toss in the pre-certification testing and warranty for free..... I might have a new car by tomorrow. Might also try haggling down the price cause $1500 is still alot to make off a car. I'm still a firm believer of 2%-3% profit margins which would but it closer to $21.5K

If not, I'll keep looking.

But I will say this, out of all the dealers I've talked to so far, he's been the most respectful, helpful, and honest of the bunch. I know, that's not saying much when it comes to car salesmen, sorta like calling a shark nice only because it's chewed one arm off instead of two. Oh well.

i guess youre more into the image of the car than the driving dynamics. I looked at the C class from MB and then drove the new 3 from BMW. The new 325 with sport package handles incredibly, not even in the same ballpark as the C class. Night and day difference, and there is free maintenance (oil changes included) for 4/50k.

BMW3 series are way too expensive here. Not even a close comparison. As for handling, I think you are confusing the C230 SEDAN, which handles quite horribly I thought with a 2.3Liter V4 charged engine versus the C320 COUPE. That's a RWD, 3.2Liter naturally aspirated V6. With more horsepower and more torque then the 325i and better stability and traction control. Sorry.. BMW 325 versus a C320 Coupe in terms of price, performance, and handling is going to lose in every category. That's why it's not even on my radar right now. It's only saving grace is decent gas mileage.

Plus, I think the 3 series looks butt fugly.
