YACT: are land rovers/range rovers any good??

not like im gonna have money anytime soon but are they really troublesome in terms of reliability?

yes, i've seen the land rover lemon webpage, im just wondering if there are other owners with better experiences

I personally am not an owner, but my cousin hasn't had any problems with her '02 Discovery.

well considering the guy actually bought a used land rover... i guess it's different. maybe the previous owner beat the sh!t out of it, you never know.

They are nice, and I do certainly like the feel and drive of them but after seeing all of the lemon pages and bad car marks on carsurvey.org......they seem ghastly unreliable.

Edit: read some here.... http://www.carsurvey.org/manufacturer_Land+Rover.html They would be so much cooler if they would get their act together.....also same goes for VW.

The older Range Rovers were among the best off road vehicles ever made. Thats is what they used in Africa on those old 60's and 70's nature shows like Wild Kingdom.

Of course things have changed to make them more civilized and quality has suffered in an attempt to be competitive.

The moral is:

if you are good at something, stick with what works and build a good rep.

I love the Previous Range Rover 4.6HSE or something. That car was badass.

I hate how the new one looks. Totally bootlegs off the Altezza scheme with the ugly ass headlights
