I'm not going to pay for one of APR's Turbo Stage kits. Way too expensive and overpriced. I've got a 2002 B6 Tiptronic Quattro.

I'm thinking of just doing a chip and injectors. I've already got a nice fast daily driver, but the A4 is a bit of a slug (to say the least).

What kind of numbers could I expect with a GIAC or APR chip and the upgraded injectors. I'm seeing about 220-230. Would the exhaust + chip + injectors let me push 250, or is that outside the ability of the stock turbo.

How many PSI can I push on the stock turbo safely? I hate to get the upgrade and the stock turbo die quickly.

If I did just the chip with the other minor mods (exhaust and intake), how does the stock turbo fair?

I used to read some Audi forums, but I never did the upgrades because it was my daily driver and I didn't have the time to swap the ECU and do other mods.

Thanks for the help!

Car sounds good too. Stock HP was 150 and torque was 155, I'm guessing HP now is around 240 and torque is ~270 lb-ft. The difference is huge from stock, stepping on the gas and getting pushed back into the seat is nice, not much turbo lag. :D

tontod, my brother has a very nicely modded 2002 A4, still a B5 though. i can try and get him on here though (he hasn't been to AT in a while). i'm not sure what his car pulls, but i believe it can beat a stock B5 S4 (don't quote me though:))
They didn't make B5 A4's in 2002, only S4s.

Yeah, 2002 A4 would be B6. I think you can get decent software/tuning for B6's with REVO.

The only reason I'd used APR is because they are only about 2 hours from my house and I have friends down there. I could drop it off and easily get a ride home and they could take their time.

I have the sport suspension, although I wouldn't mind a cheap brake upgrade. What have you guys done with brakes?

My K04 was $900 with the gaskets, etc. This didn't include labor, I did all the work myself.

The ECU upgrade was $600, plus overnight shipping both ways.

Not a big fan of APR, they make nice stuff but it is way overpriced. If you have the money, they just came out with a SIII+ kit :)

pac1085: Thats good that you did all the work. I bought a slightly used k04 for $1100, I think KTR charged me about 2.5-3 hours labor. I think that time may have included some other minor work, I forget. Do you have a boost gauge?

Another pic of car

The boost gauge is a mechanical autometer carbon fiber, in a dual a pillar pod (I prefer that over the vent pod but I don't have side curtain airbags to worry about)

no buzzing with this gauge at all.

Dont get bigger injectors unless the software requires it, you can run rich easily. Just the giac ecu upgrade gives you a very noticeable increase in power, you can hear the turbo spool up. You probably dont want to push more than 15 psi on the stock turbo. The giac and apr chips both boost at 1 bar (14.7 psi) as far as I know. Beyond that, you should get a k04. If you just wanted to do minor mods like exhaust and intake, the stock turbo will be fine. But like me, I got used to the power, and wanted more. :D

Mill: Brake upgrades are much further down the line for me. I think a company called StopTech makes good aftermarket pads, stainless steel brake lines, I might go with them sometime.

If you really push your car like the pc-16 upgrade, and you have a tip, you probably should get a valve body upgrade from level 10 - they are based in NJ. I'm guessing the B6 tip is the same as a B5 tip.

People are getting crazy numbers with the eliminator turbos and revo software on b6's, I'd look into that.

No such thing as cheap brakes! I don't know much about the B6, but on the B5 A4 you can put larger rotors from an a8 on. I'm probably going to do 993 or boxster front brakes, stoptechs are too much. I have my rear brakes upgraded to s4 (larger vented rotors, bigger calipers). The front is stock for now.

I've done a bunch of crap to my MINIVAN yeah thats right :). Its easier to just post it's homepage then list everything. Only things not covered are my upgraded higherstall torque converter and my 5th injector which gets me up to 18psi, stock is 9psi. Its head is at the machine shop ATM getting all the normal crap done and a 3 angle valve job and back cut valves.

Looks nice, what % tint is that? Did you lower the car at all - new springs/shocks?

It's Llumar stealth 20% (the cops measured it at 19% :p) It was really sunny that day though, normally its really hard to see through.

I have H&R sport spring on it for now. Thats another thing I'm planning on doing this summer...new shocks (bils sport), control arms...snub mount, motor mounts, tranny mounts, awe dts all at the same time. it's going to be amazing.

One of my tranny mounts is shot, I might just go ahead and get allroad mounts. After I get the pc-16, I'll figure out what go get. For the pc-16, I'm going to get an FMIC - they are expensive, about $1k.

Yes, the B6 might have some options on the GT2x eliminator turbos. I thought about getting brembo brakes, but they are expensive. Getting brembo would require me to get bigger 17" wheels (I have 16" now).
