If you have a factory installed boost gauge can you tell me what it reads at:

idle
cruising(3K ish RPMs)
full boost

and to your knowledge has it ever gone below zero a.k.a. negative boost?

Thx

WRX (1995/96) ECU Z4 - 12.71psi, dropping to 11.78psi @ 6600rpm. Fuel-cut 15.65psi.

UK/Aus/Euro ECU's V7, 7D and 6D - 11.47psi, dropping to 9.47psi at 6600rpm. With Fuel-cut @ 14.87psi

UK Prodive ECU - 13.33psi (peaks to 13.64 @ 5600rpm, drops to 12.71psi @ 6600rpm). Fuel-Cut 15.65psi.

STi RA (1996) ECU 7K - 13.17psi (peaks to 13.64psi @ 5800rpm). Fuel-Cut 15.96psi.

Z4 and UK Prodrive map are near identicle, with the Prodrive Map running slightly more boost.

Maybe it's going negative if you come off the throttle. The recirc Dump valve will release excess boost back into the air intake, so boost will drop completely.

I don't have a boost gauge on mine....yet.

Just cruising you shouldn't be boosting anyway. What do you mean by negative? Do you mean vaccuum? It shouldn't go into boost unless there is a decent drag on the engine/on the gas a decent amount.

the boost gauge goes from -.1 to .15

The car is idling at stop lights at -.08, cruising it is sitting at -.05, but when you upshift or really mash the gas it's instantly flips up to .1 and then bounces back and forth between .1 and .07

I know in idle or cruise it shouldn't be boosting but to me that would imply it'd be right at 0 not negative thus impling a vaccuu situation.
