My wife is wanting to trade her 1999 Accord (110,000 miles) for an 04 or 05 Wrangler Unlimited (the long wheel base one). Does anyone own one of these or know much about them?

A dealer near by has a couple of new 04s that he is wanting to move pretty bad, they stiker for about 27,000 but on the phone he came to 24,121 with out us showing to much interest. I would like to get it for about 22000, what is my chance.

Thanks

I love my wrangler, but make sure that's really what she wants before she gets it... they are not for everybody, and even though I love mine, its not the most practical car.

I really like my Wrangler as well. They're very solid vehicles. Make sure she gets one with the 4.0L I6. As far as a daily driver, I think the TJ's are pretty civilized, though I would suggest getting a hardtop. TJ's are way more comfortable compared to the YJ's (which is what I have).

Definitely go with the 4.0l V6. Is she looking at a manual or automatic transmission? When I was looking at TJs (I ended up getting a Sentra, go figure), Jeep only offered a 3-speed auto, which absolutely sucked (and sucked gas) on the highway.

BTW, I personally hate the look of the long wheelbase TJ, but if that's what you want, go for it.

Yeah I own a Wrangler, and I absolutly love it. Washed it today as a matter of fact!

It's a 2001 Sahara 4.0 I6 with Manual Transmission.

I have to agree, you better really want Wrangler if you want to buy one.

Good Luck on finding the right one!

Nice!
Certainly nicer than the Durango down the block or the Altima in the garage. ;)

Haha, yeah true. I took it off for the first two summers that I've owned it, but not last year. It's such a pain in the ass. This summer though, I probably will.

Can you get a hoist for your garage? You could probably even jerry-rig one with some hooks, a pulley, a tie-down loop and some strong rope.

Liberty...?
Might be, I thought it looked a tad too long to be a Liberty, but I may be wrong.

Well we went and test drove the Wrangler and did not like it. We then tried a Liberty, it was nice, but a tad small. We then drove a grand Cherokee and liked it but the fuel economy was worse than I would have liked it to be. We then tried a Caravan (we have one 2 year old and are talking about a second child) and my wife just couldn't get into the whole minivan thing yet. [ ** side note ** the whole reason she was wanting a wrangler was to have one cool car before she had to be praclicle and get a minivan ]. Then we tried the Pacifica and we loved it. It had all the room of the minivan, but was some how different. It had fairly good fuel economy (24 hwy). Was a bit pricier than I was hoping for, but it was a lot more car than I thought we would be getting. We got the AWD model, with DVD entertainment, and leather seats. It is a blue/green color with black leather, really cool looking. ( will post pics tomorrow when it is light ) So far so good. If anyone has one of these and can give me some pointers that would be great because some of the buttons seem to be a little confusing. It has zonal AC/heating (dvr/pass/rear) and it is not very intuitive.

Thanks for the replies.
