Hey guys,

Some people might remember that I wanted to buy a 2004 Mazda 3 GX, with sunroof, power windows etc etc for 20,900 negotiated down. Canadian Prices. However, they've sold out.

Now, I've found a 2002 Acura RSX-S, leather, sunroof, in dash 6-disc cd player, bose sound system, power windows ABS and all for 20,500 (not negotiated). Whats your guys take?

The Acura has better re-sale value, and proven reliability... But it's a coupe, while the Mazda3 is a sedan... so really depends on what you want...

Also the Type-S has more hp and a 6-spd manual...

RSX Type-S is a fun car to drive, and a cold-air intake gives it a nice little power boost. If you don't mind it being a coupe, or used (2002 must be, right) I'd take the RSX.

What's insurance like with the RSX? And how high are they on the car theives list?

I looked at the Mazda3, Accord, Civic, and RSX as well. Figured I didn't need to be practical at all as I'm still young and single. To hell with practicality, I went with the 2001 Prelude :)

The RSX does still catches my eye every so often, I especially crave for the 6 speed. Didn't choose it because it was hatchback and looked a bit too bubbly and high for my taste.

if it matters, the aftermarket is freaking huge for this car. I recall people getting in to 13s with only NA bolt ons.

Get the rsx and then get the hondata. It's one of the best mods for that car.

Wut dat?

I am assuming he's talking about the Hondata ECU upgrade. Basically it's a computer upgrade for the engine that will churn out as much HP as possible. It will void the warranty, though.

If and when the mazdaspeed version of the 3 comes out, i'll take that over the rsx-s, but for now, i'd say the rsx-s. Mazdaspeed is currently coming out with the mazdaspeed miata soon, so the mazdaspeed 3 may take a while.

MSRP on '04 RSX-S is $23.8K. But what's nice is that the S model basically has no other options available... it comes loaded with all kinds of stuff. I wish a GPS nav option was available though. I bet the 05 will have that as an option.

It would be nice if HID's was an option on the RSX Type S as well.
