Anyone else have a problem with the ABS on the 04 WRX? It's WAY too touchy. Going out today where there was a couple inches of snow on the ground, in an unplowed area where I was going between 15-20 mph and slowing down, my ABS kicked in, which could've been bad if there was a car in front of me. Subaru already has allowed MY 02-03 owners with this problem to get it fixed at no cost, but when are they going to admit the problem with MY 04?
 
The ABS on my '05 Corolla is really sensitive too.. kicks in when you go over tiny imperfections in the road... seems like its newer Japanese cars in genral that have this problem, the ABS in my '93 Volvo works much better on rough roads & in slippery conditions.

well, all I can say is my 96 subie impreza ABS is really sensitive too. the problem with MY02-03 is that when their ABS engages, they totally lost the brake. is your brake there when the ABS kicks in? pull the ABS fuse?
 
I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX that does that a lot to. Funny thing though is on my Scion TC, which I have owned since July 2004, I dont think ive ever felt the ABS turn on.
 
Ford had a saftey recall on every mustang ebrake from 82-94, but only if you had an MT (99.999999% of cars where it actually was used enough to wear out the teeth). It's all worn out on my AT and Ford won't fix it. My car has rolled before, while off, in neutral with the ebrake pulled. Needless to say, I don't rely on my brakes to hold my car in place anymore, even if it means my trans is going to fall out. Fvck ford.

Nope, I lose the brake too. When I try to depress it, it won't allow me, and I can feel a grind underneath the brake pedal when I try.
 
when ABS kicks in, try to let go the brake and step on it again? this stops faster for my car. the best is not to engage the ABS. I need to step hard on the brake on an uneven road to engages it.
 
Its the same on all the subarus based on the impreza. Early on Foresters did this too. You aren't actually losing any brake. There just isn't any traction to be working with. Its something you get used to, and brake sooner.

My demo 06 'Beca i have now doesn't seem to have this problem. Different abs perhaps.
