Insurance will rape you, but the milage is pretty good for a 1990. However, 300ZXs look like a bitch to work on.

my insurer rates WRX the same as any other legacy.

the TT ZX is going to be more like camaro ratings. helps that it's 15 years old, though.

helps a lot?
The car is only worth $5.5k.. how much could the insurance for it cost?
Partial coverage too... under $100/mo?

after a certain age the insurer thinks its a classic and lowers the premium, iirc.

the prob, of course, is a sports car with a 19 year old driver. my ins on that would be under 100 per month. yours? 4x that maybe. go to your insurer's website and find out

I just read a few reviews.
According to the reviews, this car has poor reliability and the parts are prohibitively expensive. Although this is common with these kinds of super coupe sports cars.
The non turbo version seems pretty slow 8 second 0-60, and is a gas guzzler, 18mpg.. My current ghetto 92' corolla LE does 0-60 in 9 seconds.
I guess this car isn't for me :(

For those who are wondering how much insurance could cost...

I was quoted over $10K per year (5000+ per six months) for coverage on an identical car.

I was 18 or 19 at the time.

thoughts?
How much do you guys think insurance will cost for it for someone that's 19, driven two years without any accidents, but has one ticket?

EDIT: So what car should I get for less than $10k, fun to drive, decent interior, and won't rape me on insurance?

way expensive for 140K

I've had two NAs and i wouldn't touch one with those miles for that price. There was a TT here last year with 150K for $3500...

If you're going for a z32, get something low milage. I had one with 140K and one with 79K. Huge difference - the gearbox on the low mile one felt amazing and i didn't have any random problems with tranny or electric systems.

ALSO

If you're not mechanically inclined and don't have money, you're looking for a wrong kinda car. Z32s are not particularily cheap to maintain and definitely not a good daily driver.

Get a 91-92 Mazda 929. Beautiful car, all the luxury you'd ever want in a car. I had one, was pretty neat. Insurance shouldn't be anymore than the one you have now. Put dubs on it and it'll be just as nice as any other car around.

Something is very wrong with that car if it is a TT and only $8000

$5000 is the sweet spot. Probably around $8000 max

Get a 2nd generation DSM (mitsu eclipse gsx / talon tsi awd). Really cheap to make fast and not terrible with maintenance. You can get 300hp for under $1500 worth of mods.

You're not gonna be able to find a VR4 or stealth RT/TT for ~5 and any Z for that price is gonna need work.
