i'd have to vote against hte tC... the seats really just aren't that comfortable. makes driving no fun anymore 🙁

jbWHO, something has got to be wrong.. only 300-310 miles on a tank? I'm pretty sure other 3i's are getting a bit more, as i get that on my 3s (well, for the past couple of months... in the summer I was getting at least 320).

i usually go to gas station when odo says 320miles and it takes about 10gallons to fill her up.

so...31 - 32mpg sounds ok?

Hey folks, has anyone seen that Ford Fusion car?

IS it any good?

It's a really small car. Good for commuting I guess, but you won't stuff much into it when needed. Interior seems really cheap and plasticky in Fords. When I was out for a new car I very seriously looked at the Focus (the old model now). I only rejected it because of it's interior quality. I didn't like the interior in a Mondeo either though it didn't look so cheap.

Got the GF a corolla S. Its an economy car for a reason and liked how the corolla looked more then the civic (coupe/si is ok, sedan is fugly to me). THe 3 didn't get as good mileage (she averages around 33 and I average 35 in it, must be the driving habits) and well, we want economy here. Also didn't like how the 3's have only been out for like 2 years (the civic a new year model).

When you buy a car, you have to pay the added value tax even if you're a company. When you lease however, the expenses of the lease can be accounted as company's expenses in their entirety. This way you get the taxes reduced since you have smaller profits. Amortization of the asset (car) is less than lease expenses. The final difference is not so great, but you have another advantage for lease: you get to operate with the money you would otherwise spend on the car.

I'm getting 370 - 430 depending on how much frozen it is in the morning when I start thawing it out (it's around 5 degrees f here now) 🙂 430 in summer. Had it for a year now 🙂

"It's the little things that add up to give the 3 the victory. It does virtually nothing wrong and gets so much right. We prefer its interior design and functionality and we think it's a better-looking car than the Civic. Plus, it wins in any contest of performance. Bottom line, the 2006 Mazda 3 wins because it offers a driving experience far beyond our expectations and, more importantly, beyond its price tag."

Hard to argue with the review. The Mazda 3 looks like it beats the Civic in nearly everthing but gas milage. If MPG isn't a big deal to you, then I would test drive the 3 and make your choice from there.

The U.S. Ford Fusion is not small at all. It's roughly the size of our Accord and Camry, which are a noticeable step-up in size from the Focus and Mazda3.

Tami and I love our 2005 Mazda3s sedan with the Sport Package.

I bought a 2006 3 hatch after the Civic came out, if that tells you anyting.
But civic is not bad if you don't mind the weird interior and exterior design. Should get better mileage at expense of low end torque.

Basically they're both great cars, and it comes down to preference. Just see which one you like, and fits you best. You can't go wrong with either.

Here is what you do...

Print equally sized pictures of the 4 cars. Tape them all together side by side so that there is an intersection point between the four pictures. Now tape that to a dart board. Aim a dart at the point where the pictures intersect. If you can't see the intersection point, highlight it with a marker. Throw the dart and see where it lands. The car that you want is the one the dart hit.

Mazda 3, awesome car dads got one and handles and drives beautifully

Ha! I bought the Civic! Fiji Blue EX, pretty much loaded 5-speed for $390CDN/month, 0 down, including our 15% communistic tax.

Sickbeast's car > yours. If you didn't live so far I would challenge you to a race (on the track of course). 😛

drive all three (the corolla shouldn't even count). The altima isn't really in the same class, though.

I got the Civic. 🙂

600-700kms on a highway tank.

400-500kms on a city tank.

I'm getting the iPod hookup.

So far I'm very impressed with the car. It has "dual personalites". If you keep in in the low revs it's a wimpy economy car. If you rev it over 4k, it's very sporty. It has awesome power on the highway onces you hit 100km/h (60mph).

It feels very refined, and looks and drives like a much more expensive car.

The Mazda 3 was nice, but it's more expensive and I don't like the front end. Yes, looks played a large roll for me. Plus the Civic has a *very* good name, and Mazda is known as the worst of the Japanese manufacturers (people always tell me Toyota>Honda>Nissan>Mazda, luxury brands aside of course).

Really? All I've heard (and know from experience) is that Mazda makes some of the most reliable cars in the world. But of course you can't go wrong with Honda, congrats.

The 3 stomps all over the Civic in just about every wy except fuel economy. Everything from performance (save for the Si) to interior design/quality to ride/handling to features.

The 3s is still the sedan/hatch to beat in this segment.
