YACT: 2003 Honda Accord Sedan

Here's a little background on our situation. On Monday while doing errands my 96 Lumina's auto-tranny went out for the SECOND time. It'll will need to be re-built again which will cost us 2k which we can use as a down payment on a new car. My dad currently wants a Honda, since he had been driving an 85 Honda Accord Hatchback that had 300k on the odometer before he sold it. Right now he's driving a 99 Honda Accord and loves it. So my dad wants to get a 2003 Accord. My mom isn't sure what she want's. We are a family of 5, I have my license and my brother is on his way in April. What can i say to her to convince her to get at least the manual V6 2003 Honda Accord? I know how to drive a manual very well, it's my mom who's kinda lazy. She does some weird sh!t where she starts the car in 1st but when the clutch is half way in she slips into 2nd? I think it's bad on the tranny and I don't want to drive a car that has been "fuxored" with by my mom. But if she gets the Accord I'm happy, because I'll be driving it alot soon. So help me out, how cheap are we talking if we get the V6 LX?

you can get a manual V6 only if you get an EX coupe also. That's it.

Most of the 2003s are gone. Slim pickings if anything is left. LX v6 sedan will go for ~22k before TTL.

I recently bought a 2003 I4 LX sedan, it's a fine car, you can't really go wrong. I do have a problem with slight buzzing in my door, but there's really no such thing as a perfect, perfect car.

The only problem with LX are drum rear brakes. Doesn't really matter if you keep the hubcups, but if you ever decide to get rims, it'll look bad.
I am very tempted to get a LX coupe, except for that one issue.

Oh, and go for a 2004. From my research, the price savings on 03 don't justify the resale you lose by having an extra year old model year.

I think the V6 LX comes with 4 wheel disc brakes. That's not the case for the I4.

The no rims on LX does suck, but with so many people ditching factory wheels for aftermarket ones, you can pickup a good set of EX wheels for cheap if you putz around some accord boards.
