General car stereo sites would be useful, too. I want to start researching, and I don't know a whole lot.

Oh, I listen to metal. I want nice, tight, punchy bass that doesen't drown out the mids and highs.

So, I suppose that means midrange speaker recommendations are welcome too? ;)

Any other info needed, let me know. This will be going into the cab of a 1981 1/2 ton Chevy pickup, so there's some room behind and under the bench seat.. but not a whole lot. Maybe a nice set of 10's?

Maybe list several price ranges(~250, 500, 750), and the pros/cons of each... or even better.. something that I could upgrade slowly, ie: Buy the reciever & midranges, then the amp and 1 sub, then the other sub or something.

TIA. :)
