Yep, it's old too just like The Ring I posted about a few days ago but I caught it last night I think on Cinemax.

It had a promising beginning but then got sucky pretty quickly. The creatures were pretty disturbing and well done but that's about it. I generally really like movies that Morgan Freeman is in but this was the exception to the rule. I don't think the suspense laced with a few comedic moments really fit in either.
The whole concept really didn't work but I'm used to crappy Stephen King movies by now. There are only a few that I enjoyed like Maximum Overdrive, Silver Bullet and Pet Semetary.

Any comments on Dreamcatcher or Stephen King movies in general?

EDIT: Ok, I have to add a few I forgot: Shawshank Redemption (which I didn't even realize was based on a SK book), the Shining and the Running Man. Still, given the sheer amount of his books that have been turned into movies or television mini series that's not a good track record. The guy must be loaded, though!

Dreamcatcher is one of the few movies that I stopped watching halfway through. And you're right about Stephen King movies usually sucking.

Notable exceptions being The Shawshank Redemption & The Green Mile.

since i dont feel like conveying how much i hate this movie, ill just re-paste a reply i said in an earlier discussion of said movie...
seriously, saw it in the theatres, take it back to your blockbuster and say your dvd player couldnt play it, could i please have my money back? its that bad. probably one of the worst movies ive ever seen. and to prove what ive seen, i have seen 'cutthroat island (high seas fun with geena davis )' and 'gigli'. and i actually found those movies more entertaining than this one, but not by much.

see what your making me do? your making me publicly admit to seeing 2 TERRIBLE movies in the theatres to the public! thats how much im trying to help you avoid this movie.

Stephen King movies and TV series rarely follow through. His work is best left to books unfortunately. The exceptions are The Shining, The Dead Zone (movie and TV show), The Running Man and the ones you mentioned. (Though I haven't seen Hearts in Atlantis yet)

EDIT: Totally forgot that The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile were Stephen King works. Both very good.
