And how on earth would you know?

Let's say when you are born you have a sensitivity of 10. You get circumcized and get a sensitivity of 5. You feel no loss of sensation since you never knew what a 10 felt like.

It's only those who get circumcised later on in life which can really tell the difference, and they've given their opinion.

You're missing my point.

I'm saying that lack of sensitivity is not a problem for guys, whether they're circumcized or not. I think every guy has to work on his "lasting power".

If you were to offer me even more sensivity, I'd have to say no, since I'd last about 30 seconds. It's too damn sensitive already.

Besides, while those who get the procedure done early in life wouldn't know what it's like to be uncircumcized, those who get the procedure done late in life don't know what it's like to have it done early in life. Having surgery done as a baby is different than having it done as an adult. When you're a baby, your body is still developing, and recovery is almost always more complete.

It's not about the recovery, it's about the exposure of the glans to things like underwear. For those who are un-cut, the twinkie is nested safely in the wrapper until needed, making it sensitive when its wrapper comes off.

Well loke got it right in some respect, There was a before and after difference after the procedure w/ mines. The sensitivity went down, but I care less about it.

Not even bothering this time...

This one is actually civilized, it's a miracle. Must be because we're diverting attention over in the marriage thread.

I'm not for it or against it. I don't care. But it just doesn't make sense to do it at that age if there's not a medical reason to do it.

I don't really see the point of circumcision these days. I mean, if we weren't ABLE to keep ourselves clean then it would be a different story. Then again I'm sure that there are bums in Yew York alleys thanking god that they were circumsized.

"My little baby might end up a bum in an alley and I wouldn't want his little weewee to get infected from the grime he sleeps in every night". Isn't that the real reason we still circumsize?

Of course I guess it might be useful in the military as well (damn I'm shooting my argument in the foot here). Whatever, I'm circumsized and I haven't really missed the extra skin. We should really think about when this ceased to become a necessity though.

I've heard of it happening before. IIRC there are some other things you can try before you are cut, but the end result is usually that you get cut.

Funny story; my brother didn't find out about that little "feature" until he had sex, and it wasn't his first time, either. She musta been loose? ^^;
People with really bad phimosis (tightness of the frenulum) can have sex perfectly fine without ever having to reveal their glands.

Don't think it's necessary anymore unless you plan on living as a hunter gatherer without ever taking showers, etc. Unless you want to waste precious drinking water cleaning under your foreskin. On the other hand, I can imagine that it would really really suck to be circumcised later, since you'll lose the sensation you knew you once had. On the other hand, I was circumsized as a baby, so it doesn't really affect me, as I can't imagine anything else. Although... I could always get surgery to reattach foreskin 😛

I don't know what the big thing is about being "clean." It's not like if you're uncut you have to clean everyday or you'll become infected with some horrific disease. I'm sure you could go months, years without washing and wash it properly once and no one would ever know the difference.

Smegma can eventually lead to a urinary tract infection, but I'm pretty sure this isn't a common occurance.

Adding more fuel to the fire:
In weighing the risks and benefits of circumcision, doctors consider the fact that penile cancer is one of the least common forms of cancer in the United States. Neither the American Academy of Pediatrics nor the Canadian Academy of Pediatrics recommends routine circumcision of newborns. Ultimately, decisions about circumcision are highly personal and depend more on social and religious factors than on medical evidence.

what is "circumcision " exactly? sorry but i never heard of this personally.

Removal of the penis's foreskin.

why do they do that? is it a religion thing or what?

Yes, Jews do it for religious reasons.

Some people claim health reasons, but I don't think that is a valid excuse these days, with very few exceptions.
