If I started a jen-you-wine business, would it increase my chances of being able to get a credit card even though I have no credit history.. since I would be able to report an income, even if it is meager?

/me doesen't have 500$ to do the secured thing .. lol

Not likely, if you don't have $500 to get a secured card what do you need a CC for?

There's a better chance of me giving you the keys to our Honda Accord than that happening.

So I wouldn't count on it :)

Exactly. If you don't have the cash to pay for your purchases, then you shouldn't charge anything on a CC. Thus you don't need a CC. If you did go ahead and get a CC before you had the cash to pay it off, it'll likely be one of the bigger mistakes of your life.

The self-business wouldn't look any different than any other source of income. All they ask is your total income - not the source of the income. Sounds to me like you just need a job to be able to save up ~$500-$1000 and then you'll be set. If there is a factory in your area, they often pay $10 an hour. So that would take 1-2 weeks to obtain that cash.

well, lol...

I mean, I've been selling things on eBay. I make a couple hundred dollars a month on average. It pays my internet and food bills, the only real bills I currently have.

I want to expand. It takes money to earn money, eh?

There are really no 'legal' fees to start a business...just declare yourself sole-propriator....you don't get business protections afforded by the government though.

Once you file taxes as a business you usually will get the card applications coming in monthly.

why dont you get a real job and save some cash to do so. If you cant figure out where to scrounge up $500 you are in trouble.

Yeah, I know.. but I still don't think there's anything wrong with trying to expand.
