Why the tears? Fairly good looking shell, engine that is actually useful as an engine... seem like a fantastic idea to me. Shame it'll still be sh!t around the corners.

This guy said it right:
that skyline motor can make more power than the mustang motor twice its size. the only thing sacriligious about it is sticking it in that hunk of junk that weighs a ton and isn't balanced at all.

Wow, a bigger bunch of idiots I've never seen.

Edit-You're right though. It is an abomination sticking that sweet engine in that hunk of junk.

Whoever thinks that the Skyline motor can make more than the V8 is smoking crack.

They both are capable platforms, but the RB26DETT is no joking matter. It will hang with the best V8s out there.

429 Cobra Jet FTW!

That Nissan motor probably makes over 500hp.

That's fine and dandy, but nowhere near the power that an American V8 can make.

500hp is also a fraction of what that engine is capable of. The american V8 is certainly an impressive motor, but don't be so quick discount anything else.

I'm not discounting anything. Just giving my opinion on the original quote that the skyline motor can make more power than the V8, which is pure bunk.

For reference:
The Skyline motor weighs in at about 720LBs.
A Ford BOSS 429 weighs in at about 680LBs.

So... how is the american V8 twice the size of the Skyline motor?

The Skyline engine can produce around 1000 HP on STOCK internals...

Try that with ANY STOCK V8 .. Its not going to happen. Period.

What does stock internals matter? We're talking about modifying, so it's all fair game. I bet next you'll bring up hp/liter...

Oh, and the 302 that was in the car only weighs about 500LBs. So the Skyline motor added 220LBs of weight.

I'm not a fanboy. Just sick of seeing people think that displacement==size. Afterall, a Chevy Small Block has about the same size and weight whether it's a 265 or a 400.

I don't care about hp/liter. Every engine has its + and -'s. The RB26DETT is a very well designed engine. Much better designed than the engine that was in that Mustang to begin with...
Just don't understand why some think its an abomination.
