Does anyone here know if a Physics/Astronomy major/minor for the first 4 years would be good enough to get me into an Astrophysics postgraduate program? LSU (the school I'm looking at) doesn't offer an Astrophysics program, just Physics and Astronomy.

It would be difficult for me to get into a school with an Astrophysics Bachelors program (cost wise).

Any help is appreciated.

Why don't you email someone in charge of postgrad admissions at some school with an astrophysics program?

Though I'm sure you'd be fine with that combo. May consider simply double majoring.

One of my classmates is getting his PhD in Electrical Engineering and his MS was in Astronomy. May not be that useful to you, but I'd assume that Astronomy and EE are a lot more different than Physics/Astronomy and Astrophysics and they let him into an EE phd program.

Hmm, well that sounds good. I'm very ignorant of the whole college process. I just want to learn and do research, not get caught up in paperwork or intrauniversity politics. :)
