I'm not talking about New Castle, or Bass. Those are still relatively big brewers. I'm talking about little known beers that most people have never seen or tried.

I'm a stout drinker, so I'll name off two of my favorites -

Sammy Smith Oatmeal Stout <----- My current favorite beer. Mmmm mmmm mmmm.
Rogue Chocolate Stout <------ Very complex tasting beer, and one that you can just pop open and sip on for a while.

I personally like Boulevard. I'm not sure where it ranks on the lesser known beer scale though. Only being a few hours from Kansas City just about everyplace here carries it, but I don't know about the rest of the country.

I've found it quite a bit here in Iowa, and over in Omaha. I love their wheat! Just found out they had a porter as well, that's on my "to drink" list.

Bayhawk Ales OC Lager (or Oktoberfest depending on time of year), speical Bock, and... actually all their stuff is pretty damn good. Those are my favorites, though. Irvine, CA.

Wow... they sell Rogue over in Iowa now? I remember when they were just a little brewpub in Ashland, OR (a beautiful little place btw).

My favorite micros remain Deschutes Brewery. Their Black Butte Porter is like the American version of Guiness. Alaskan, Sierra Nevada, Full Sail, and Portland Brewing are all good micros as well.

Speaking of Brews out of CO, Avalanche from Brekenridge brewing is quite tasty :)

I've had Fat Tire. It tasted like Pabst. I'll save myself $3.00 a glass next time and just buy the Blue Ribbon.

Ah, you took mine! :| BBP is a taste treat, and I also like their Obsidian Stout which is great and also packs a punch at 6.7% alcohol. ;)
Most of the local brewpubs around here make good beers, but I don't know how many are available nationally.

Fat Tire Amber seems to be quite popular around here. It goes down easy, but I like something darker. Edit: me=slow typist

 indeed. Fat Tire is a decent Ale. I don't know where you got it, or how old it was, but comparing it to Pabst is.....just.....wrong. Nothing alike IMO. I wouldn't drink Pabst for any reason, and I don't mind Fat Tire at all.
