YABBT - So why didn't these other guys hit 762 (and counting) Home Runs?

So now you've got Troy Glaus and Jay Gibbons, Rick Ankiel and if we think way back to the preseason, Gary Matthews Junior touched by the steroid wand - what prevented these guys from hitting 750+ homeruns? If steroids make you that much better at baseball - where are Jay Gibbon's power numbers?

Discuss.

Your amazing......

Your point has been addressed multiple times in multiple threads. You're not original at all.

To sum it up:
-Bonds was already one of the great players of the game and a surefire HoFer without steriods/"performance enhancers".
-Steroids/"performance enhancers" boosted him from all-time great to one of, if not the greatest to ever play.

You have a Monty Python reference in your thread.

Looks like the "schmuck" in your username is redundant.

Yes 🙂 TBH - As a Giants fan, I like to hear the Bond's haters come out and do their thing - particularly in light of the new steroid "evidence."

What are you trying to achieve with this thread? Do you enjoy watching Bonds play homerun derby while your team is in last place? You're also mixing up steroids & HGH.

Yup, congratulations Giant's fans. You've got the most hated player in the game.

Oh, and when was the last time your team won anything btw? I'll give you a hint, the last time your team won a world series they were on the other side of the country and chances are you were still just a gleam in your dad's eye at best.

Jay Gibbons, Troy Glaus, and Rich Ankiel are shitty, fragile ballplayers. Barry Bonds was a very good player before he started juicing. Steroids enhance natural ability, they don't create it out of thin air. If it makes you feel any better, they're all equal at being cheating scum.

Normally right around here is where I'd throw in a "you're a moron" comment, but you're a Giants fan, we don't expect to have rational, intelligent thoughts about Bonds, any more than we expect black people to think logically about OJ. It's not your fault.

I'm sensing...Dodger fan. There is much bitterness in this one.

Try again. No bitterness at all. I only speak the truth.

Your star player is hated by almost all, not to mention being a surly cheating POS, and your team is perpetual World Series losers when they manage to make it. Why this make you happy is beyond me but to each his own I guess.

As an Angles, fan...I enjoyed the Giants losing the world series.
I think bonds is an ahole, but that will never take away from his record. The suspense of the wait must have been exciting to the Giant fans.

At least he has a brain. Comparing Bonds to Ankiel? Up until a month ago, Ankiel's MLB career was as a pitcher. There's been only one pitcher in all of MLB history who was also a big-time slugger, and I'll give you a hint, it's not my hometown Zambrano (although Zambrano does have more career home runs than Ankiel has). 😉
