Kiss = better Image.. and gene simmons rules

well said

Neither of these bands I play daily, but how can you say poison>Kiss for music.

Are you thinking everyone wants to be Gene and doesn't care what they listened to the last 30+ years?

Gene knows it's a business, and at this point in his career is taking advantage of the KISS phenomenon.
They did make some good music (and some bad music), but now they know the music biz very well, and one day when they are too old to play, someone else will wear the same make-up and play the songs while they kick back retired in their rockers collecting royalties. They already started by letting the drummer wear Peter Cris's makeup. It's actually a great idea. The make-up lets anyone qualified to take the place of any band member, and one day it will be all new younger guys playing under the name KISS while the old guys just make alot of cash.

If KISS never had the makeup and the rest of the getup, they would have never been as big as they were. They built themselves into iconic figures because of their business savvy.

Poison has much, much better music. Except for "Unskinny Bop" of course.

Same here, as someone who's seen both of them live multiple times Poison owns Kiss. Funny you should mention Aerosmith though as Aerosmith>all live, and I didn't even like Aerosmith the 1st time I saw them. Beating out even Kiss though for most overrated live band.....AC/DC, pure crap.

nah, 20 years ago, new members got to wear new make-up (Eric Carr, Vinnie Vincent), now it's back to the original "4 characters" no matter who is playing under the makeup. It's a great long term business plan.

The mix on Alive II does leave a lot to be desired. I've never figured out why they didn't just leave it raw like ALIVE was.

Aerosmith, IMO, gives one of the best live shows...hands down.

I dunno. I've seen them live twice and both times was unimpressed. Just seemed sloppy.

Best live show I've ever seen was either The Rolling Stones or Pink Floyd.

Man it doesn't get ANY cheesier than a KISS concert. And THAT is why they are the kings.

unfortunately I am willing to bet most in this thread haven't been to either's concert, nor really listened to the music.

Kiss puts on a great show. Timeless music. yeah it's my opinion.

Poison does a great job too...not spectatular though

lots of rock from that day moves me.
